Played here yesterday morning with Eaglee as a morning warm-up before Stevinson Ranch. Looked like one of the better options along the way and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. I had booked a 6:15 tee time online, but we got there a little early to make sure we got out and around as quickly as possible. The place was a ghost town before the guy showed up and opened the pro shop a little after 6:00. $49 with cart reasonable for a weekend morning round. We had to work around the maintenance crew and sprinklers a bit as you can expect early in the morning, but the first hole was crazy. As we were getting ready to hit our approach shots, the maintenance guys descended suddenly upon the green and greenside bunkers like a Black Ops mission and the one guy actually cut the new hole and moved the pin position AFTER we had already hit our approaches! That's a new one. Otherwise, we had the front nine to ourselves and played behind another twosome on the back nine for a great morning pace. The course was in very good condition overall. For the most part, the tee boxes, fairways, rough and greens were well-manicured and surfaces were great to play on. Everything a bit soggy on the front nine, but the grass itself was great. The back nine didn't seem quite as nice as the front with some more thin patches, but still solid. Bunkers also significantly better on the front. Back nine ones were terrible. This is a solid overall layout with a lot of water in play. Most holes have a water hazard to contend with. The front nine here was much more interesting to me with more contour and trees in play. Back nine is more flat and open and not as aesthetically pleasing, but a little longer and plenty challenging with a lot of big water hazards. And the course does end on a fun note with a short risk/reward par-5 that features an island green. I'd definitely recommend the course if in the area. Reminded me a little of Riverlakes Ranch.
