Played June 3. This course is about 20 miles N W of Co Springs and is at an elevation of 7,000 feet. Beautiful course that is laid out through meadows and wetlands. Difficult course, as you deal with wind in the afternoons, as well as the course is very narrow, due to the springs and wetlands running through it. As it is just early June, the course is just now beginning to fill in, as they had a wet spring, but a great amount of snow, that kept the course in good shape for the summer months. We found the tee boxes to be in very nice shape. The fairways had decent coverage, but there were some thin spots and the lies were not as lush, as the courses down in CO Springs and surrounding areas. Sand traps were in bad shape, due to a huge rainstorm the day before. Rough is tall and penal and many many areas of out of bounds, from streams and wetlands. Greens appeared acceptable, but were slow. All in all, a great course to play, should one be in the CO Springs area. And yes, the ball does travel a long way at 7K feet. Great customer service and a terrific Italian restaurant attached to the clubhouse.
