This was the primary round today as an NCGA member outing on this private club. Shotgun start at 11:00 with one group on every hole. However, everyone kept a nice pace and we were finished in about 4 hours, 10 minutes. Our group started on hole 13.

I was very disappointed in the course conditions from tee to green. The greens I loved as they were very fast and smooth, but receptive enough on approaches. Some pock marks, but nothing affecting putts much. The tee boxes were fine. The fairways were not great. A lot of bare/dead/brown patches and inconsistencies. Rough pretty lush and good for the most part, but also not without its inconsistencies. Bunkers were hard-packed with little-to-no sand to work with. Some borderline GUR looking.

The lackluster conditions marred what should be a more enjoyable RTJ Jr. layout that offers some different elements than most "traditional" Central Valley type courses. This has more links elements and also plenty of water hazards in play. Lots of interesting contours, big undulated greens and difficult bunker arrangements. The spotty conditions took away the visual appeal because there wasn't much definition. Overall I'd say a pretty good layout, but not worth the guest/outing price based on current conditions--even though I was putting great on these slick greens and ended up with a nice score : )
