Final stop today. Another overpriced muni round. We paid a little extra to tee off at 2:30 when things were fairly open (compared to after the 3:00 twilight rate rush). Ended up being $65 I think with cart. We got around the front nine pretty quickly and then the back nine was completely packed. Still, total pace of 3.5 hours not bad at all on a nice Sunday afternoon in April. Course conditions were also quite good here. Good tee boxes and very nice fairways. Thick rough, as well. Soft, receptive greens rolling at slightly quicker speeds than our earlier rounds. Bunkers here were not great. Very crusty on top and hard to gauge what the sand reaction would be underneath. This was the best course of the day. The front nine isn't anything that exciting. Pretty standard parkland kind of feel (reminded me of Rio Hondo in places). Back nine is much more interesting with hillier terrain and some fun holes. I'm sure it's almost always crowded here and their rack rates are crazy, but a decent option if you do find a reasonable deal. After the main course, I stuck around and played the 9-hole, par-3 Short Course. $17 more dollars to the lofty tab! Only a couple other people on it that late in the day, so I got around very quickly. This is a really fun pitch and putt course (longest holes around 120 yards) that is just as nicely conditioned as its big brother. Great course for kids and beginners to go along with what is clearly a very popular practice center at Santa Teresa.
