Played early Sat. in 4:40, a bit of waiting but not too bad. We played it back at the tips and the Babe is a mean lady if you are not hitting it straight off the tee. Fairways can be very narrow and the penalty for missing can easily mean bogey (or worse) if your short game is not precise. Greens were verticut recently but rolling quick and somewhat predictable, fairways in great shape as is the rough. Course is allways well maintained.

Nice meal at Reds afterword. Classy place. Recommended.

Played 5-3-13 @ 12:40 pm. First time on the Babe. Oh yes I will be back. This course is in the best condition of all the courses I have played recently in the IE. Tees, fairways, traps, greens are in great shape. Course plays slow. So bring your patience. Hit it straight and you will have an opportunity at your approach. 2 complaints. Trim the tee off the 5th tee and people fix your divots. The greens were immaculate. Except for the previous groups who refused the repair there ball marks. You know who you are. Keep the greens nice and do your part !!!

Played I H Zaharias course today. Course is in great shape from tee to green. The greens are healed and putting true and great. Fairways clean, mowed and providing excellent lies. Tee boxes clean and level. No complaints on sand traps from those who were in them. POP was right on 4 hours. The customer service is outstanding from every level. Nice touch putting 2 waters in the ice boxes. Loved the GPS (tremendously helpful) and the notice of keeping carts 20 yards from greens. In fact your cart actually slows down if you come to close, forcing you to move away. For those of you who have not played here, I strongly recommend you do. I know we will be going back soon to play the Ike or perhaps make it a day and play 36?

Played today as the 2nd group out. The course was in fantastic shape. Tee boxes were flat and undamaged for the most part. Fairways were lush, nicely cut, and there were no dry or brown spots anywhere. The rough is typical of I.H., nicely cut and taller than most courses. Balls in the rough could be very tough to find, so keep your eyes on it when your ball misses the fairway. The bunkers had good sand (not to the point of fluffy) in them and were consistent through the course. The greens have pretty much recovered from aeration, but are still on the slow side. However, they did roll true, and there were very little divot damage.

Played Thurs. 4/4. Course recently had their greens punched, but has nearly fully recovered. Greens still had sand on them (or whatever that is they lay down), but the holes were gone and the greens rolled well and true. Rest of course is in near perfect shape! Fairways are nice and green. Rough was real tough though. Quite long and quite lush. I have gotten used to the rough at muni courses, which I usually play by simply clubbing up 1 iron, and sometimes not even that. The rough at the Babe was impossible to get a good strike on it. It made for a penalizing and challenging round. I wish I had played it smarter. Excellent course and is in great shape now. Worth the $75 weekday fee. Weekend play is probably real slow as the course is so difficult, so I would avoid it then.

Little behind on my reviews, played the Babe for the first time last Wed. 3/20. Woke up and checked out Hot Deals on Golf Now. Saw the Babe on there for $29 @ 1:20, cheapest I have seen, so I locked it up straight away before anybody else could. Which will lead to a huge customer service complaint, which I will discuss later.

Wanted to work on a few things on the range so my Dad(golf buddy) and I arrived an hour early, I dropped him off to get the cart, parked and folowed into the pro shop to get a yardage book, that GKr "Addictedtogolf" recomended. I catch my Dad coming out of the shop yelling were on the T. Great. Wonderful.

T's: Played from the white, near perfect condition.

Fairways: Near perfect, best in the area.

Bunkers: Need work, poor condition, very disapointing for the rack you normaly pay. Sand, small pebbles to small rocks in some, 1/4 inch of sand with hardpan underneath in others.

POP: Excellent, glad we got off a early. No one was in front of us, literaly I never saw anyone in front of us! not even 3-4 holes ahead.

Atmosphere, ambiance of the course: Excellent. If you have ever been to the City of Industry, it might be hard to imagine there is a plush golf resort there. I did not go in the proshop or hotel, but an overnighter is in the cards with Mrs Mc_sean. The pool, very clean with great views and a jacuzzi with our name on it. Grounds plush green grass all around, just beautiful. It seems, you are in a different place when you are on the course. The Pine trees and the slight up and down nature of the track make's you feel like you are playing in the mountains some where. Very peaceful and quiet, with the exception of one hole, that had Azusa Ave to your back.

I highly recomend....Wait!!! I cannot highly recomend, even though I want to. At least not now.

Customer Service: Poor. Why? Solely, for when I booked on Golf Now, there was no icon indicating they just aerated the course. Fortunately, I went on Gk to see if there was any tips on how to play the course, I found out Instead that they just aerated the greens just six days prior. Thanks to "JohnnyGK" for creating this site and informing me, prior to getting there. I would have been hellof pissed, if I got to the 1st green and found out that way. Possibly pissed enough not to come back. I looked later that night and on Sunday, to see if I overlooked the aeration icon. Nope! Worse than that, they had a T time for after 12PM, for $95 no indication of aeration. That's robbery for greens you cannot putt on.

Greens: Recently punched, not playable. Example: right to left breaking putt of 10 feet, did not break on my intended line, instead stayed on a line of punch holes.

I did get into trouble on the first two holes by not having a yardage book. However, I discovered the "flyover" feature on, the GPS on the third hole, that perfectly advised to avoid the exact trouble I was in. I used this feature the rest of the way and was happy with it.

Got to try again. Possible new favorite.

Played on 12/21, 10am tee time. I've played both courses here several times a year, and the Babe is in the BEST shape I've ever played it! They added GPS to the carts recently, the kind that are able to control where and how fast you drive. They've made them very controlling (on cart path only holes, you get 1 yard off the path the cart stops, and don't even think about getting within 50 yards of a green!). And its likely worked in helping the conditions get so good. The fairways had that cross-cut look that you only see on the PGA. The greens were PERFECT. Nothing more to say than simply I love playing at a course like this! I hope they keep it up!

Hard to believe there are no reviews since August but the course has not been in the best of shape this summer. It is now in great shape ... overseed done and the fairways are filling in real nicely ... still cartpath only until next weekend (call ahead). Greens still show a slight hint of aeration, otherwise, rolling quick and true, some are close to immaculate dare I say. Rough is long in some areas but playable. Played as a 3 ball with no waiting this morning, Mega Monday deal for non-members is $50, in just under 4 hours. The course will only get better as the winter Rye matures. Highly recommended.

The Ike should be off the cartpaths in 2-3 weeks.
