Played Wednesday December 11 around 8:30 am. I got my Senior Card earlier in the week but when I tried to use it I was told no discount before 9:00 am. Oh well. POP around 4:20.

The course was pret... Continue »

Took advantage of an invite with an early tee time, which is the only way I would consider playing this course. Larry's recent review was spot on, except I felt the greens were not as receptive as exp... Continue »

Almost all the work on the back nine is finished. All temp tees/greens are gone and all holes are open. They are still finalizing the bunkers around # 10; have added a new bunker in front of the green on # 11 making the hole more challenging and some work is finishing on 18 and would you believe it,...

24hr has got it right. Weekends are the worse for POP at LV. My Sunday group is usually in the first 5-8 and we still play close to 5 hrs because they let several groups of 'glow balls' go out before sunrise which slows down the course for everyone after them. We've complained, which helped a bit...

Now for the long hitters, just hit it right over the trap on the left. All other bunkers have been removed behind that one. Could leave you just 200 yards for your second shot, depending on how far you drive the ball. Much easier hole now than it ever was before. They have even made the existing bunker smaller so it is less likely that shorter hitters will go in it as well. But the new sand in the bunker and lowering of the lips of the bunker make it an easier shot out of the bunker should you go in.

Now you just need to hit your drive down the left side and let it fall into the fairway, now that the bunker has been removed. Then just hit 2nd shot up the left side of fairway, let the ball roll back into center or right edge of fairway and PW or gap wedge to green. This really has become an easier hole with the removal of the bunker.
