I played yesterday after the early morning pouring rain. I teed off at 10:00 as a single and eventually joined a twosome ahead of me. The course had drained well and there was really no standing water. Some of the tee boxes were a bit squishy, but the course was in good shape. One doesn't want to be in the rough after it rains. The ball sits down and the wet grass really reduces the distance of the shot. Pace of play was 3.5 hours but would have been quicker if not for the foursome ahead of us who were 2 - 3 holes behind the group ahead of them. We had to wait often to hit our shots. Too bad they didn't wait at the next tee box and let us play through. I think they were oblivious.

If you are looking for a solid course to play right after rain, which we really haven't had much of lately, definitely give the Classic Course a go.

Side note- as with any public course, many golfers don't repair their ball marks or fill fairway divots. I always try to repair mine and another and fill as many divots around mine as possible.

Played the Classic 12/30, course played in five hours for holiday week, not bad. Greens were in very good shape and speed was very consistent. Fairways were a bit wet and patchy so the ball picked up mud on some holes. I enjoy a low stress round on occasion and the Classic satisfies that need.

Did not see a cart girl all day but good food at the turn.

Visited the Classic course at Mile Sq. today with a 4-ball, $52 to walk. PoP about 4:50 with an 8:30 tee time running about 10 minutes late. They didn't cut the fairways after the rain so that was a bit of a challenge, but the greens were just fine, no complaints really, the course is playing nice. Bunkers were damp but very playable, rough is non-existent. Good menu at the restaurant and great service. Somewhat pricey for what you get, but definitely a worthwhile golf excursion, other than those d%mn coots. I hate coots.

The 16th fairway was the only real problem. We were stuck behind a 4-some all day waiting at each tee-box and approach shot but still played in just about 5 hrs.

greens are ok.....sand traps were inconsistant...many were good but a few "looked " like they had sand..but was hard pan beneath them...awfull. tee boxes were scratchy and most of them were not level... Continue »

Played here on thursday 09/26. Pro shop was really cool...had a 10:30 tee time on the way down to san diego, but got stuck in the great city of LA and their wonderful traffic for an hour and a half and had to call and get the tee time moved to 11:30. Super accomodating.

Tees: 7/10 - boxes had some chunks missing in a few locations (played from the blues), but were generally decent. Few uneven lies but could generally find a decent enough spot to hit from.

Fairways: 8/10 - little thin but generally decent. No overgrown areas, all in all not too bad.

Rough: 6/10 - very inconsistent. Front nine had some thick, difficult to hit from stuff, but the back was just like the fairway all the way around. Pushed/pulled balls wouldn't really affect you on the back. Lots of tree sap from the pine trees around too...that stuff is a pain if it gets on you or your stuff.

Sand: 7/10 - luckily i wasn't in the sand, but my partner was and said they were like cement. So this review could be way off, but it's based on what he said.

Greens: 8/10 - rolling pretty true. Only negative is that the course was super busy and people weren't fixing their divots so there were a ton of marks all over the place. Speed was a little inconsistent from the front to the back as well, and then I realized that they were watering the greens 2 groups in front of us on the front and nothing at all on the back which would do it.

Played here 9/21/13. Overall, good condition with high marks for smooth greens. Fairways were in good shape as well. POP was a little slow, but expected for Saturday prime time morning. Very well organized customer service and golf shop. Large putting green, only mats for warmup, with some very old range balls. A good value, but I did not care for the layout. Very straight, very flat and rather unintertesting. I'd have a hard time trying to recall the holes in order of play, as so many were similar. The condition of the course and service help balance an otherwise non-descript round. Give it a try.

Greens were in great shape. Sand traps consistent Play pace was good. Need a Marshall. And would be nice for local rates

Walked on as a single Monday morning took 15 minutes to get called. Have not played here in awhile and what a pleasant surprise. Fairways were lush and the greens were great. Very little divot damage and they were rolling great. Some tee boxes were not level and had severe divot damage and traps were inconsistent. POP was ok at 4.5 hours. For $34 to walk it is worth the greens fee and will be back soon.
