Reading thru I forgot to add how terrible the sand traps were. They were rock hard, and you might as well use a shovel to get out of the sand trap. I cant even tell you how disapointing this course really was. I hated golf after playing this, but finally regained when I played Casta Del Sol last weekend, which I might add was only $43 with a cart, and this POS was $50. The driving range also has cracked balls, and the mats are terrible too. If you are reading these posts because you want to know how the course is... Play something else maybe costa del sol or Aliso Viejo. Better yet spend the extra $ and play Tejaras Creek on twilight. Its worth the extra $20.

Played here for the 2nd time. Very disappointing. The fairways were in bad shape and had no real first or second cut. Tee boxes were very uneven and patchy. Customer service was lacking. On a Sunday afternoon the course was pretty empty. If I wanted to work on long irons this would be the course. On most holes the driver is useless.

Played on Sat 4/15/06. Tee time at 12:40 PM and went out on-time. This is the only good part about this course. I played over 30 golf courses in LA/OC/Riverside/SD counties, and this is one of the worst golf course I ever played. I will never go back even it's free. It's definately not worth the green fees. This place looks like a junk yard. Muddy fairway, no maintanence at all. Pace was ok on front, but waiting for 3 groupds to tee off on back nine every single hole. Took 3 hours to play 8 holes on back nine, finally gave up waiting and skipped 18th hole. I will never go back to this place!!!

Played this course for the 1st time this Saturday. I had a fun time, but I dont think I will play this course again. There were some cool holes, but the worst part about it was the pace. We teed off at 11:00am and did not get back to the clubhouse until 5:00pm. 6 hours is a little rediculous. Not to mention the bar tenders getting in a fight and throwing chairs over the bar (I am not exaggerating one bit). There was NO cart person to bring food/drinks which sucks when it takes 3 hours to play 9 holes. Also the fairways are so tight with houses on both sides you dont want to risk using your driver. My friend broke a window on the 18th hole.

All together I had fun, and there were some really cool holes, and the greens were fairly good. But from now on I will pay the extra money to play Talega or a course that is better run. Oh I forgot about the kids running around the fairway on hole #6, which was a little out of control. Im a patient person, but that was the worst golf course I have played (to this day atleast).
Pay the extra money and play a better course.

Shorecliffs is always my last choice. Got stuck there yesterday (tourney at San Juan; green aerification at San Clemente). Customer service was great. Very accomodating. Got me out as a walk on in less than 10 minutes. Which tells you about the course....it's a goat pasture. Always has been. Tough little course. Really makes you think. Lots of target golf. No rough to speak of. Lots of weeds. Tee boxes were mostly dirt and sand. But, the greens were in very nice shape. Slick and hard. Would only recommend as a very last resort.

Is it that difficult to create flat tee boxes? Can you water your fairways and plant some grass? What is going on with the weird grass growing within the greens? These are some of the questions that cross my mind. I typically play the lower cost courses in the area but this is the bottom of the barrel for golf in Southern California.

Holes 11-13 will really test your patience. The finishing hole is weak. Yesterday was my first and last time playing "The Ditch".

SHORECLIFFS: Played it Dec30, 2005 for the first time. Let's face it with a slope of 130 this course is no walk in the park. Tight fairways and very fast greens. I think this course gets a lot of bad press because it is difficult. That being said get to the course early and practice, practice your putting. I intend to go back and follow my own advice. Good luck.
