Let me first say that I love the layout of this course. The last time I had been here prior to today there was no driving range and a trailer served as the clubhouse. I have to say I was really disappointed in the overall condition of the golf course. I don't think I can put into words how BAD the greens were. It wasn't just ball marks. Many of the greens had large patches of bare ground on them. Fairways were OK but traps were above average. It is a shame to see what was such a well maintained golf course in its present condition. If I didn't know different I would have thought I was playing Whispering Lakes. This course has a long way to go before I return.

This one of my favorite course because of the variety of interesting holes. Played Sunday 7/31 and it was a bit wartm but the breeze made it OK. Best part of the heat was it kept eveyone else away so the whole day never saw anyone in front or behind us so we got to play at a nice steady pace. In OC this course would be $30 more so it is worth the little extra drive time, Service is great marshalls came around all day to keep us supplied with cold water in between cart visits.

I agree with the previous post. I tend to try and fix the other ball marks on the green besides mine. This would have been an impossible task to do at Trilogy. I can't believe that anyone who is talented enough to hit a green that will cause a mark has not learned the etiquette of repairing one. This is not the course, this is simply an issue of people who do not respect the game. This is an awesome course and always fun to play. Despite the severe ball mark damage it still plays extremely true. My only complaint was getting a dud cart and having to walk it most of the last 5 holes. It couldn't make it up the steep grades with even one rider. We finally had someone show up at the tee on 18 when we called on 14. Treat yourself to a twilight round and enjoy the Clevelend National Forest in the setting sun!

What is it with the 'severe ballmark damage'? I have often read comments about ball marks not being repaired at many courses. Never have I seen it so bad as at Trilogy - played 7/6/05. An otherwise magnificent course in excellent condition.
Why is it that folks do not repair their ball marks? Why does this happen so obviously at Trilogy? Are the greens any different here? Softer, different grass, different maintenance? Does the clientele differ. Are younger, newer golfers ignorant of or indifferent to ball mark etiquette? Are older golfers unwilling or unable to bend over far enough to fix divots?
To be fair, the ball marks on many greens were more noticeable because they had been infilled with sand/seed mixture. But this would not have been necessary if they had been fixed immediately.

(you could actually spin the ball, unlike last year when the ball just bounced and rolled) A very nice interesting track with some fun holes. Many opportunities to make birdies here!

4.5 hour round, course is in great shape. My only complaint is the greens, many ball marks some repaired some not. Course could be playing like a 8.0 if it weren't for the greens.
