Starter Nick put me on :20min early not long after the mens club cleared. This was welcomed as I figured the heat was near. Had'nt been here in possibly a year and really didn't know what to epect, no recent reviews. First 3 holes I carded par, then skipped the 4th hole asit was playing as a short par 3 due to tee box(s) repairs etc. The 3 some just finishing let me play thru only soon to run into the last of the mens club. Pace of play now was effecting my game, ego back in box. Conditions are good. Some thin areas in landing zones but playable, greens soft rolling better than fair but I see a mixture of grasses on the dance floor. Rough, well it can be thick! Sand all nice white quartz and plays very fair. Tee boxes are not as healthy as you might expect. Nice cart path system with pit stops along the way, water hazards, waterfalls, and probably 6 different tunnels you pass thru traveling between tees. Carts have the best GPS system (geo fencing enforced) fitted w/side mounted cooler ice provided at starter desk. Great pro shop and staff, very nice bar/resturant and very nice outdoor patio with elevated view of #9 tee and green. I hesitate to report anything too negative here but if I touch on this subject maybe the "Mens Club" will notice. I never leave my cart 30-40 yards in front of the green area chip/pitch-up walk up everybody putt out then strut back down to cart and drive off! S..T, all 4 guys riding single in nice custom carts do this constantly! Drive around to the side parallel to pin walk down like everybody else to your ball do your business and be ready to putt out! Just stinks of selfish arrogoant behavior, fortunately the draft Modelo helped wash that memory away. By the time I got bact to the parking lot my truck thermometer read 108 ! For me probably wait till Fall to settle in and the heat to calm down before returning. Almost forgot the Ivy has a decent covered driving range and near by small practice green. Cost me $70.00 for 18/single cart and small bucket. Enjoy.

Clearly, there is some maintenance going on here. Several fairways on the front nine were kind of chewed up presumably because these patches were burned out. If this is already happening in May, it's going to be a long summer. The greens appeared to have a light layer of sand on them. The pace of play was too slow for a late morning Thursday tee off time. Expected pace was 4 hours 25 minutes. With all of the waiting around, it took us 5 hours. However, the bunkers had the best sand I've seen in a long time. Why can't other golf courses get some sand like this?

Golf course can to use to be a solid lay out with good variety. Unfortunately that is where the positive review ends. Had 6:09am tee time on Friday 5/8. We arrived at 5:30am to locked doors at the golf shop. Cart guy was there staging carts and said someone should be there by 6:00am. Shop opened at 6:01am with an employee clearly in no rush to help us. This left us to pay fees, load onto our carts, have all four of us sign in with starter (Glen Ivy policy), drive to tee and tee off in eight minutes. We managed to hit our tee shots by 6:15am. I say all of this due to the “slow play” alert we received on the fourth hole. Like we were a problem. We walked off the 18th hole at 10:05am. Hadn’t seen the group behind us since the 7th hole.
On the course conditions: From history new the 5th green may not be in great shape but the front nine greens and fairways were definitely spotty and needed love. A good sized dirt patch on 9th green needed sodding instead they are attempting to use plugs which will take much longer to heal. Back nine was much better as greens were consistent as well as fairways are much better condition than the front.
Lastly the boundary system to keep carts away from greens and native areas needs to be adjusted. No less than three times did the system stop our cart and direct us reverse out of area, the problem was we were driving on the cart path. Overall a negative experience.

Returned to Glen Ivy this weekend with a buddy and found the course to be in very good shape. I've had some hit or miss trips to this place in the past, but today it was pretty ideal, with a few exceptions.

First off, this is a cart-only facility with massive elevations and some long sections between holes, so leave your push cart in the garage. The carts themselves are very nice and have a solid GPS system. They do have some very precise governors on them if you're in a non-cart area of the course, but it shows you those on the screens which is nice so you don't get stuck.

Right now everything is in good shape at Glen Ivy. The fairways have some very good coverage in most areas with a few GUR sections off the fairways, while the bunkers were really nice with great sand. Some of the tee boxes were a little thin (played the white tees), but for the most part playable and level. The rough was made difficult by so many leaves off the trees obscuring your ball, but also some deep areas to exacerbate that search.

The greens were running really nicely and there are some quite tricky green complexes to navigate. A few of them have multiple tiers so getting on the right one is critical. The speeds were consistent and rolls true, but it seems like too many golfers don't bother fixing their ball marks here so that was disappointing, but not overwhelming.

POP was good although we were always pressed by a twosome behind us, with another twosome behind them. I will never understand why those groups don't get together to make their delays far more manageable. It makes no sense, but they stayed separate the entire time. Not my problem, I guess ...

Overall though a really nice time out at Glen Ivy and well worth the $85 greens fee. I played a truly awful round of golf but the nice scenery and good conditions still made it worth the trip.

Course in very good condition especially after recent seasonal aeration/sanding 3 weeks ago. only a couple greens healing more slowly. Fairways healthy with nice lies. Had to move ball 2 times from over watering or leaking plumbing issue. Tees (Men's), suffering from overwatering so I usually moved back a yard to find decent footing. Forgot how difficult approach shot are here. Sand traps protect pins expertly! This was a Tuesday late morning tee time. Played the front alone, then a twosome joined at the turn. Place has a relaxed Country club feel with nice modern Pro shop and resturant/bar facilities. Very nice outdoor elevated patio overlooking the 9th green waterfall rock formation and lake surrounding. Practice facility closed until 11am on Tuesdays. $71.00, nice carts and excellent GPS systems. 4hr. 10 min total play time. I'll be back.

Played 8/6/25 712am tee time. Haven't been out here in a while since I thought the price went up. Turns out the price isn't the same on Golfnow versus the course website. Golfnow is $92.49, course website $60- really big difference... Now the course is back in my golf groups' rotation. Conditions were great with some overwatered spots here and there (probably due to the heat). Tee boxes were good for the most part with a few crowned areas from the blue tees (today they had a few blues playing from the blacks). Fairways had good coverage with a few thin areas here and there- mostly tight lies with good cushion underneath. Rough only a couple inches longer and easy to get a club on the ball. Sand traps were really nice- I've been playing here for a long time and they're the best I have ever seen them right now. Greens were rolling nice and smooth, but got faster once the temperature started rising. Great customer service in the pro shop and the cart barn. Will definitely be back soon if the conditions stay the same.

Played here again today with a 7:03 tee time. I'd seen that the Southern California Golf Community Facebook group had a few groups teeing off earlier, so when I overheard the starter saying their 6:36 group was only going to be three, I volunteered to start early and got to meet a few great guys from the group. The group right in front of us was well behind the group in front of them (the entire par-5 10th was open in front of them), but POP wasn't too bad at just a smidge over four and a half hours. Conditions are very similar to when I played here two weeks ago, except the par-3 5th green is much improved and I didn't encounter any bare spots in the middle of fairways today. Greens were smooth, accepting of full shots, and medium-fast. They seemed to get faster as they dried out toward the end of our round. Overall, they are very nice. Fairways have great coverage and provided good lies all day. Rough is in a little lesser condition but still quite good and not too penal. I was only in one bunker, which seemed to have an interesting maintenance approach where the edges of the bunker were pretty firm but they had added ample sand in the lowest areas where balls come to rest. White tee boxes were mostly good but a few were severely slanted. Again, the tee markers were very close together (less than 10 feet apart, despite plenty of room to have them wider) and at least one hole (15) had them placed in a weird spot that had us aligned with a big bush blocking the left side of the fairway. I played great and had a great time. Definitely recommended.

Played here this morning using my JC Golf Anytime membership. Had a 6:54 tee time but checked in shortly after the pro shop opened and they paired me with a twosome headed to the first tee right away, so we started a little after 6:00 and finished a little before 10:00. Cloudy skies started to clear late in our front nine; the view from the famous 18th was still a bit hazy but several back nine holes had clear skies and beautiful views.

Conditions are quite good throughout the course, although there are some exceptions. The greens were great: smooth, medium-fast, on the soft side and very accepting of full shots. However, they somehow lost the par-3 5th green and it's in absolutely terrible condition. Fortunately, whatever happened is isolated to just that one hole and the other 17 are all very nice. Similarly, fairway conditions are mostly all great, although there are occasional bare spots here and there. I think it was on the 6th hole I was in bare dirt right in the middle of the fairway. The rough is in mostly good condition and not very penal. Blue tee boxes were cut short but several are unlevel. Oddly, they had the tee markers very close together on almost every hole, maybe only 10-12 feet between them. I was in two bunkers that were both quite good.

I hadn't played here since an agonizingly slow round in 2014, so it was nice to be back, play quickly, and see the course in good condition. I had forgotten how disjointed the routing is, though. Despite that, definitely recommended right now.
