Played in men's skins on Sunday. Not much to write about this course because the condition of this course usually never lets you down. Everything was good. One thing that stood out though was greens. Greens were excellent. medium to fast but more on the fast side. Once you figure out the speed, it's much more fun to play in these nice smooth fast greens.

I agree with funkyfurlong. Played yesterday Thursday 5/16/13, called Tuesday and made a 3:45pm tee time for 4. Got to the course and somehow our group was not in the system. Got down to the tee box where there were a couple groups waiting to tee off. Tee'd off after about 10 minutes of waiting and luckily the groups in front were playing at a good pace and we didn't have to wait again for the rest of the round. Holes 1 & 2 were punched and sanded, greens on the rest of the front were quick but a little bumpy and a lot of unfixed ball marks. Back nine greens were a little smoother but slower and still a lot of ball marks. The course did have a few sponsor signs up on a few holes so I think they had a tourney earlier in the day. Fairways were great and lush but a little on the soft side, rough was short but the ball would sit down, also rough was really soft and damp on the first hole. I was about 2 yards off the fairway and almost plugged it, ball was covered in mud but had no real issues after that. Sand was plentiful but had not been raked by anyone that had been in it prior. I have never seen that many traffic marks in sand since I started playing and of course I ended up in one bunker in an almost unplayable lie because of all the traffic. Waste areas were nice and firm. Tee boxes were flat but a little on the thin side and completely brown around the edges. Afternoon breeze felt good and adds some challenge to a few holes, paid $25 with course email special (I think it is only a $4 discount at that time of day) and is well worth it.

Nice day for golf yesterday. Course was in decent shape but many greens were still in bad shape. #1 was really in bad shape and#2 was sanded and still showing large punches. The back 9 had better greens but still only a 6 out of 10 at best. Pace was great with only 4 hours. I was in the sand quite a bit and (aside from the footprints) the bunkers were excellent. Most tee boxes were in good shape too. I would say it was worth playing but if they keep it up it should be even better in another month. The biggest issue was the tee time I booked with golf now for the rest of our group. They have screwed us so many times its ridiculous! When we arrived none of the times were in the system and they guys were told they needed to pay full rack rate. It took forever to figure out the mistake that golfnow made. Even with the golfnow confirmation, it was still an hour and a half of hassle....... not the first time by the way either!!!

Played 5/5 with a 6:30am tee time. Pace was OK but could be better for such an early round. Had to wait a little on each hole but not enough to bother us. The round took just over 4 hours as a 3 some. The course was in great shape. The tee boxes were flat and only had a few divots. The fairways were nice and lush. Bunkers were as they should be, with fluffy sand in the green side traps and compacted in the fairway traps. The greens showed tiny signs of aeration from a month ago, but only in coloration. They were rolling true with good speed and no bumps. It's not a super tough course and the wide fairways tolerates less than perfect tee shots. Some pin placements were in tough spots, but I understand since they're fairly unprotected. Had a great time and will be back.

Typical day at Sierra Lakes. Not much to complain about the condition of this course. Green looks fully healed. I was bit surprised the green weren't as fast as i expected. more like medium-fast.

Played yesterday 5/2/13. Made it around the course in just over 3-1/2 hours as a foursome. The 25 mph wind with 40mph gusts must have scared everyone off but I had a great time practicing different shots. Down wind was playing about 2 clubs short and dead into the wind was playing anywhere from 2-4 clubs up. Greens were really hard and watched wedges and short irons take big hops and release from the center to back or off the back of the greens. Aeration markings are still visible but fully healed and all putts were smooth when there wasn't debris from the wind blowing the trees and bushes. Also the wind was greatly affecting the putting speed so it is difficult to comment on the speed. Downhill putts into the wind was extremely slow but downhill putts downwind was extremely fast. All sand looked great though I wasn't in any but there were a few pebbles on the greens around the bunkers so I'm sure there are some tiny rocks in the bunkers. Rough was mostly lush but still a little patchy but only in a few areas. Bermuda Fairways were immaculate, not cut too tight so chipping around the green was still easy. Tee boxes as always are some of the best I've ever been on. Perfectly flat, lush and minimal divot damage on par 3's. My only real gripe with this course is there customer service. I swear they hire some of the nicest people in the world but also a couple of the biggest pricks that could care less about the customers. Thankfully checking in with the pro shop is a quick process but everyone in the bar and restaurant are good so don't let my comment shy you away from getting a drink or meal. I didn't eat there this time but they do have an excellent lunch menu and the Sunday brunch is one of the best I have ever been too.

Played Sierra Lakes on Sunday with a two groups at 11:07 and 11:15 tee times. Not sure if it was the heat or the Lakers game but I’ve never seen the course so empty and we sure weren’t complaining! With nobody ahead and the nearest group behind us at least 3 holes back were able to take our time play at a leisurely pace.
Tees- We played the black tees which were beautifully maintained and hardly any divot damage to speak of. In fact, thinking back I don’t think there was any! Kudos to the course personnel!
Fairways- Green and lush throughout providing perfect lies all day. Cut tight and getting that extra roll doesn’t hurt
Rough- Very lush and thick right now. About 3” in most places and if your ball was sitting down in it, good luck to you.
Bunkers- Was in one greenside bunker today and the sand was soft, white, and fluffy.
Greens- Wow! Fully healed from aeration and they are perfect right now. Fast, firm, and true, but would hold shots. After playing 3 rounds earlier this month in Hawaii these greens seemed lightning fast but that was probably just me getting re-adjusted to quicker greens. But still close 11 on the stimp if I had to guess.
Customer Service/Facilities- Very friendly guys in the pro shop and got our group of 8 checked in with no problems and smile of their face.
Misc.- Hot dog at the snack bar is tasty and huge! Enough for two people to split.
