Thanks Johnny for adding the additional courses I played while in St. George. St. George GC is one of the local munis. It was the second round I played on Thursday 8/2. I called ahead and they said it was pretty wide open. I arrived around 9:45 and was teeing up a few minutes later. $33 summer rate with cart. I played through a couple groups on the front and then caught up to a twosome on the back, but they moved along well and I didn't feel the need to push much. Still another very quick round overall.

The course was in okay shape. Mostly pretty dried out and crusty, but also lots of soft/muddy spots too. It's that summer desert turf that's somehow kind of thin and fluffy at the same time, and I encountered pretty similar conditions at several courses on the trip. The tee boxes were fine and the bunkers were decent. The greens were solid. A few burnt spots here and there, but mostly good surfaces that were soft and rolling reasonably well at medium/slow speeds.

They were doing some work on the back nine. The normally par-4 14th was temporarily playing as a par-3 while they lay down new sod in the fairway. Also, the tee boxes for 15 were being worked on. Still a par-5, but all the tees moved up and playing shorter than usual.

Nothing too exciting or special, but the course has some character and is not bad at all. Probably the course I would rank last of all I played. However, that speaks more to the overall quality of the golf in this area. Just an affordable local course that won't attract much play from out-of-towners, and I think the folks here are just fine with that.
