I played at Waterchase recently - this was my first visit back since playing here about seven years ago and my thoughts are very much the same. The course presents itself as an upscale facility and for the most part delivers on that, except for the trailer that is the clubhouse. That doesn't bother me but I know some people will object at that.

The value is good ($50 for twilight) and your green fee buys a lot. Conditioning was great, even after tons of rain the previous week. There is some nice landscaping and a cool waterfall between the 9th and 18th greens. Most of the course has a wetlands feel to it while other holes are wooded. You get a peaceful feeling while still being in a major metro area (close to the Arlington attractions).

When it comes to the design, I am just not a fan. The land leads to extremely tough and weird golf holes with many forced carries and water in play fifteen times (think I counted right lol). The 10th is a crazy 600+ yard par-5 with a narrow fairway that splits on the layup. If you go to the left you'll likely be blocked out by a grove of trees. I can see why some people like Waterchase and do think it is worth a round because of the conditions and scenery, but it isn't one I'd like to play consistently.
