Service and Amenities:
The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Service at Rams Hill was on par with other resort style courses such as Pelican Hill. They are very attentive and remember you by name once you introduce yourself (We played here the following day as well and the pro-shop guys greeted us by name as we walked in). Locker rooms inside the clubhouse provided showers and towels to clean up after the round. On course there are tons of water/ice stations (definitely needed in this heat). We did not see a cart person until hole 15 but they provided complimentary bottled water and frozen grapes which was excellent. After the round you get cookies when dropping off the cart -- DELICIOUS!

Greens:
The greens were impeccable and probably some of the best I have ever played. They definitely rolled true and fast. Posted green-speed for the day was 11.1 which they definitely were rolling at by the time we reached the back 9.

Fairways:
The fairways were so lush and in perfect condition. There were no bare spots and no dry patches. They were soft on iron strikes but firm enough to get roll-out on tee shots. The contrast of the deep green fairways against the harsh desert landscape was amazing as well.

Bunkers:
Bunkers were well maintained and had excellent sand. They were uniform all throughout the course and that includes the practice facilities. The sand here is the white beach style stand which you can plug in. The course is littered with bunkers that sometimes have steep lips so you can get in a lot of trouble from misplaced tee/approach shots.

Tee Boxes:
Flat and lush. There was absolutely nothing wrong with them, but if I had to nitpick something it would be that you had to poke around to get longer tees into the ground since there was rock/hard dirt an inch below the tee box but what do you expect when playing a golf course in a rocky desert.

Rough:
About 1.5-2" long and thick. It wasn't horribly punishing but it was definitely enough to make you think twice about what shot you were going to hit. Depending on how it was sitting, the rough was deep/thick enough to produce crazy fliers or dead shots.

Overall:
Amazing course, fun layout and challenging. Easily the best maintained course I have ever played. Ever hole felt different each of the 3 times we played it. If you do end up making the trek out here, try to get a morning tee time as the wind in the afternoons can be brutal. It was fun to see headcovers flying down the cart path and having to hit a 180yard 9i followed by a 110y 9i on the next hole due to wind direction.

Played Rams Hill on 3/25. Went out right behind the Men's Club. The starter said we'd have a hard time keeping up with them. Not true, they were quite deliberate. But we still made it around in 4:30, so not bad.

Course is in it's usual great shape. There are a few rough spots on some greens, but those are mostly on the edges and don't come into play near a hole. Tee boxes, fairways & sand all fabulous.

Still one of my all time favorite courses. Was hoping to get in a replay, but it would have been right behind 5 or 6 foursomes including high school teams, so I decided to give De Anza a shot for the 2nd round.

Play today in beautiful weather in 3.5 hours the course is in fantastic shape the greens were running at 11.5. Tee boxes were spectacular. The fairways like lush carpet. Never once had a bad lie and the fairways were generous with roll. The bunkers were great and so playable. The greens here are just wonderful and such a pleasure to be able to bring your ball in and use the slope to get close to the pins. Not too mention how true they putt. Stayed at Casa del Zorro and this is a fantastic Resort Hotel. Great variety of rooms and many Casitas with 2,3,4 bedrooms. Minutes from Rams Hill. Customer service at Rams Hill was excellent at all levels as always. And they have added a snack bar and restrooms below and behind 9th green.

Played 2/3/19 Grabbed a HD for 10 am. POP just under 4 hrs. Fairway's were perfect. Emerald green & lush. Ball sat perfectly. Rough was no big deal. Easy to get out of with little issue. Traps were in great condition & consistent. Tees Lush & level. The only less than perfect were the greens. They were mostly in good to great shape. Looked a little rough, but actually ran smooth with good roll at a little over medium pace. But many had sick/bare spots along the fringes. They mostly did not come into play, unless you were trying to putt across them or had to land a pitch on them. 90 % of the green surfaces were not affected. Only small portions. Really enjoy getting out here. Easy recommend to go out & play.

Teed off yesterday at about 7:30ish and only saw a 2 someone and we let a single out ahead of us and really had no one else around us the entire time. Finished a little less than 4 hours and asked the starter about going back out and we were able to get out in 15 minutes. Caught a few groups on the back so we finished as the sun had set over the mountains so we finished just in the nick of time. We got 36 holes in for $80 which is a ridiculous if you ask me.

Course conditions were very solid all around and very consistent with all the reviews from the GK outing. Greens are fantastic. They rolled really well and held shots well. Even though my putting stats were terrible I thought the speed of the greens were very fair.

Fairways were outstanding. They are about as good as you can get. Generous room in the fairway and divots were filled in. I don't recall any blemishes in the fairways at all.

Rough had some thickness to it. It couldn't be taken too lightly. I had a couple sitting down on me and I wasn't able to catch the ball cleanly.

Traps were consistent and ample sand in them.

Played the back tee boxes and they were all outstanding as well. Didn't notice much differences on the other tee boxes as well.

Staff is top notch all around. The guys in our group like it so much they are already planning another one. Definitely worth playing right now.

Played at rams hill Gk plays 2018. Second time here. Brought my usual foursome up here. The course is definitely worth the green fee. The tee boxes were the best I've played on all year. Every hole has its own characteristics. The back nine has water in play on the first three and the 18th. The 11th hole with the creek running along the side to the infinity edge, which continues through the 12th. Stunning! Not a bad picture taken! Staff was very amicable and helpful. Glad to see the shack opened after the 13th. The restaurant has great food. Had a breakfast burrito and the hole in one burger. Well worth the price. The beer a little pricey,but expected. As always a great time with the GK crew.

I played in the GK plays even held at Rams Hill on 12/8/2018. The course is in great shape and I would highly recommend it. The service is top notch and the views from the course are amazing.

The course does a great job of making you feel like you have a lot of options off the tee with very wide fairways and strategic bunkers that can be challenged based on the tees you are playing from. The very wide fairways run off into some pretty thick ruff that should be avoided.

The greens were very nice but I think not as good as they were last year. There were a few spots with less than complete coverage but overall in amazing shape. This would be a great course to play a bunch; you would then have the time to understand all the subtle undulations. I think the sand traps had not been fully raked/fluffed since the rain but everything else was in great shape.

Afterward I got the tri tip sandwich which was very good. I wish I could have stayed for the festivities afterward but after two consecutive days of golf my wife and three kids were ready to have their husband/father back. Look forward to the event in 2019!

This place always impresses me on every level.

From a playing conditions standpoint, I was very glad we caught the golf course on a beautiful day given this time of year. It was a wet golf course for Rams Hill standards but still in excellent shape. The only blemish were the greens not being the typical immaculate shape. Reason being is they had many challenges over the summer with the abnormal heat and humidity combined with them being soft from the recent rains. Expect the greens to continue to improve over time. I still rated the greens an 8 and the rest of the course 9’s and 10’s.

Layout. Spectacular. Was my first time playing the white tees as I mostly play the blue or gold tees here. Loved it from the whites too. Fantastic views on an exceptional Tom Fazio design. Bunkers treacherous yet stunningly beautiful. Greens large, undulating but not unfair. Fairways with ample room to grip and rip but will severely punish if you miss them. Rough lush rye grass with dormant bermuda outlining the bunkers (love that). Be ready to play draws and fades but above all else you need to pitch and putt well. I love the contrasting colors that is hard to describe but take a few minutes to view the photos I just posted and you’ll agree. My favorite hole is my toughest hole, #18. Jaw dropper for a finisher.

From an organizers perspective, they always treat us here like we're members. Friendly and quick to respond to all our needs as well as organized. The staging area is perfect with the putting green, first tee and clubhouse spaced together. The driving range all grass with targets and proV1’s. Food is excellent as well as the service on and off the golf course. The patio restaurant is the perfect setting to wrap up the day. Just love this place and you can count on a GK Plays outing return in 2019!

My only knock would be the greens not being up to the standard we have come to expect at Rams Hill. The biggest problem was that there were way to many poorly repaired ball marks. Come on guys how hard is it to fix your mark and maybe a couple of others.Not much the course can do about this except mention it to players when they tee off.
The staff I encountered were all top notch and very helpful.
Looking forward to the next outing here. As always a big thank you to Johnny for setting this up.
