What can be said about what I think is the best course north of Vegas. Wolf Creek the only course I play every year when a golf weekend out of state presents itself. The butt kicking did not take long to start, exactly two holes and then the end started. Played from the Championship Tees at just over 6300 yards. I thought my last few rounds here would have taught me a lesson but no. This course never disappoints, green, lush great site lines troubling tee shots, down hill par fives that you can really swing and boom from. Challenging par 3s and simply some of the best par 4s in Nevada.
Customer service here is top notch, practice facilities are the bet around, maybe in all of Nevada. Lets just some this up, I think we all know that there's just something special hitting a tee shot when the fairway is hundreds of feet below you.
I remember my first round out here with Johnny like it was yesterday, thanks for the invite back then, it remains one of my favorite first time rounds of all time. Every round here gets better each time, not in score mind you, but in the things I missed seeing in previous rounds, visually stunning is not a fair where to describe this place, think of whatever word you can or even make up your own, BUT PLAY THE COURSE EVERY YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The second course on my recent trip to Las Vegas was my first visit to Wolf Creek. Actually, it was my second visit because I drove out there on Monday, 7/20 only to get rained out. The pro shop staff was great and accommodated my desire to postpone until the next day. I was told I could get out first, by myself, on Tuesday and that's exactly what happened. I teed off at 5:55 and finished at 9:15, playing poorly and taking tons of pictures. However, this is the first time on a "special occasion"-type course that I didn't even care that I was playing poorly, because this course is stunningly beautiful and so, so fun.

Conditions were excellent across the board. The greens are very smooth and soft, although they ran slightly slower than they looked, especially early in the morning. About two-thirds of the greens had recently been aerated with very small holes, but it didn't affect play at all. Fairways were lush and great. The rough was also lush and great. Tee boxes were great. And the bunkers were some of the best, softest sand I've ever played out of. It seems some bunkers are pure white and others are tan, but regardless of the color the sand was in amazing condition, especially considering it rained most of the previous day.

One minor bummer: the lake between the 13th tee and fairway is currently dry. Also, I was a little surprised at the 14th tee, which in photos always appeared so dramatic and intimidating but for some reason didn't seem like it in person. In fact, I opted to hit my drive (playing the blue tees) straight at the green rather than to play the dogleg.

Everything else was awe-inspiring and I enjoyed every single moment on this course. I always figured it would be a one-time play to say I've done it, but I would love to get back out there ASAP. For the $85 summer rate, if you like Wolf Creek, now's the time to go play it. And if you've never played Wolf Creek, now's the time to go play it.

Played Sat. 03/21 Course is a must play. With the exception of the greens putting a little slow. Everything was great. Played the white tees at only 5800 yards it did seem like it played longer with several uphill shots. Teed off early and finished in just under 5 hours.
Did not wait on any holes and were not pushed by the group in front of us. The course just seems to take awhile to play

Main reason for the 5 hr round was probably for the walk up and down to tees and greens. You got to be in reasonable shape to play this course. It's my 2nd time playing here and probably enjoyed it more this time around. Every hole here is a photo op. Customer service and course conditions here are just great. It's one of the more expensive courses but I don't think anyone would ever feel they didn't get their money's worth. The only other comment is that because of the forced carries, my wife played from the Reds and you do not get the Wolf Creek experience playing from the Reds. Just a great course.

Boy where do I start... Definitely the most scenic course I've seen. Gorgeous and flawless from top to bottom. Past reviews pretty much say it all. A definite must play. That said, it is very difficult, and difficult physically. Walking up to tee boxes, down or up to greens, etc. round was about 5 1/2 hours, but I don't see it ever going much quicker. Not really my type of course with severe uphill/downhill play. I was surprised at how difficult it was even though there is plenty of landing area for shots. There is no GPS so buy the yardage book. You'll need it. They did have a cooler with ice and waters and shoe cleaner though. Again, a MUST play, one time, for sure. My only issue was that the golf carts are all diesel powered. I had a headache from the fumes and it sounds like a bunch of beverage carts driving around. Explanation was that the diesel uses far less power (cost) compared to the electric because of the steep uphill/downhill terrain. Understandable, but a knock nonetheless in my opinion. Sure was super pretty though.

Tee boxes were nice and flat; fairways, greens, and bunkers amazing! Lots of walking and hiking up and down from tee boxes and greens. Lots of blind shots. Gorgeous views though!! Pace of play was a bit slow, was a 5+ hour round for us. I would say a must play at least once. Lots of undulation EVERYWHERE. Go for the views!

Playe last weekend at 7am. There are a lot of good things about this course that everyone can tell you and they are all true. Course was in fantastic shape if I could nitpick anything it would be the greens they were nice but not great a little firm and what looks to be a bit dormant. Also they need GPS on the carts because when you are out in the fairway there are not a lot of yardage markers. Overall I would play this course again any day ANY time

Played today 8/13, 7am $85. POP 3:15. First off, my expectations for Wolf were sky high and I'm happy to say they were exceeded. The course is in fantastic shape, fairways lies are perfect, bunkers light and fluffy. The greens were relatively slow but considering the undulation, slopes, and difficulty of some approaches, it was nice to not worry about your ball rolling 3 feet past the hole. Tees were mostly level with a few exceptions that were a little uneven, but nothing major. Was a great day for golf as the weather was unusally "cool" with a light breeze and only a couple groups out. Course staff was very attentive and nice. My wife rode along and they made her feel very comfortable, they even waived the ride along fee which was very generous of them. I would be lying if I wasn't intimidated as I prepared for my trip here. I have heard so many opinions on tee choices and the difficulty of the course that I even began to doubt myself lol. Biggest piece of advice for Wolf Creek is to HAVE FUN!!! Imagine that Disney built a mini golf course through Big Thunder Railroad and then shot it up with androgen, that is Wolf Creek. I played the blues and seemed to be right in my wheelhouse. I would argue that the most difficult holes here are the par 3's as they are long, tight, and guarded. Off the tee, find something that you can hit 220ish and straight and you'll be golden. People may disagree with me but don't be afraid to hit driver as there are bailout areas on many of the par 4s that will give you some wiggle room. Tip about the carts,some of the paths are STEEP. Also, the carts have multiple brake "clicks", you may feel that your locked up after the first but you still have some more give for a nice gentle decent. You can thank me later. Not much to say about this course that hasn't been said. It is a MUST play and probably my favorite round of golf ever. Enjoy the scenery, lose some balls, find some balls, and take it all in.

I had very high expectations about this course and they were exceeded! The course itself is spectacular! Visually it is as stunning a course as I have played. The condition was near perfect, particularly given this time of year. Greens were a bit slower than I prefer, but were consistant and rolled true. The staff was perfect !

This is a very demanding course! Hole after hole, when I walked to the tee, but reaction was "Wow, this is a tough tee shot" Three of the four par three holes are just brutal! I got LUCKY and parred all four of them. However I can see where a mid handicap golfer would not break 100 here, even playing decently! The greens are rather simple, it's the reat of course that beats you up! I'd love to play it again, but I suspect I would still get my butt kicked, because there are just a lot of opportunities to "bleed strokes" Had a great time, the view are fantastic. course is fabulous, which is all one can ask.
