Played 12/10. 12:30 tee time. Online rate of $36+tax. Played this course with a friend who is playing here next weekend in a tournament. No changes in the course layout from when I reviewed it a little over a year ago. It's a generally wide open flat golf course. Most of the holes are straight. Housing developments are around the perimeter of the golf course. Fairways and rough are generous. Desert areas have some mature trees, but it is clear of small plants and you're hitting off of hard pan. Greens are pretty large and mostly flat. The four Par 3's are challenging. Especially hole #12. It's 220 yards on the card but today with the pin back it was all of 235 yards. The Par 5's range between 520 - 546 yards. If you're long, you have a decent shot to get to them in 2. It's the Par 4's that give you a great chance to score. Holes #8 & #9 are 441 & 435 yards respectively, but after that all the Par 4's on the back nine are 400 yards or less.

Conditions were fair - good. They over seeded the tee boxes, fairways, and greens. Some holes had some soggy and even muddy areas. Most notably the left side of hole #10. The fairways I rated only fair. There were many bare spots and thin areas. Also, not many people are using the sand bottles in their carts. There was a lot of divot damage. The rough was dormant bermuda grass. Pretty easy to play from. Ball doesn't spin as much. Sand traps were inconsistent. Some were fine and others have heavy packed down sand. Greens were good. They were soft underfoot. Medium - slow. (9.5 to 10) Don't over read them. Most putts are straight. Tee boxes were in good condition.

Outside service was weak. The ranger had to tell us which cart to use. The beverage cart came around 5 times. Good practice range. Nice chipping and putting area. Others I played with said the food from the restaurant was very good. POP was 3 hrs 45 mins. They have GPS in the carts now. OK value for the conditions. Submitted 4 pics.

Played Nov. 1. I got an online tee time at 1:23p for $29+tax & fees. Wow, I last played and reviewed this course almost exactly 5 years ago. The course itself hasn't changed much since then. The holes are very straight. Generous fairways and rough. Desert areas are wide open, so you can find it and have a play. Greens are large and flat. They were firm underfoot, but were medium-slow. (9.5 - 10 ) Don't look for the greens to have a lot of break in them. They are very straight. I only had 3 putts that I had to play outside the hole all day. Sand traps had plenty of sand. I just wish players were more courteous and would rake them for the players behind them. Tee boxes were inconsistent. Many had long grass which made it seem like you were teeing it in the rough. Then we ran into a few tee boxes that were burned out. Overall I rated the conditions fair to good.

One thing to notice is the housing development which seems to define the perimeter of the golf course. The homes do sit back enough away from the edges of the course. However, there are a few holes where you have to protect your tee shot from going left. Beware of hole #9. If you are a big hitter and miss wide right, there is a piece of the lake that you can't see from the tee box. The carts don't have GPS and the course is not well marked. Bring your own range finder. Beverage cart came around 3 times. POP was a solid 4hrs 3mins. That is with a foursome in front of us who had 3 walkers.

The course has a good driving range and a large chipping and putting area. The driving range is lighted and open until 9pm. They did a nice remodel inside the pro shop and restaurant. Course is a good value for in season.

Played this course on Wednesday, 2-20-13. I paid $39 for nine holes which was overpriced in my opinion. There are much nicer tracks that I could get 18 holes for that price, but I was committed.

I was so committed I was playing in the rain and cold on several holes. It was actually quite a fun round.

The course routes through a housing subdivision. The fairways were pretty wide and this was never an issue in my round, but from the patch marks on the sides of some people’s houses it is obviously an issue for some.

For playing 9 holes in the rain on a week day in the middle of the day, this course was overpriced for its condition. For example I paid just four dollars more for a 9 hole round at 500 Club the day before, and I would say its condition was superior to Western Skies, and no subdivision to be seen.

Greens were inconsistent, with a few greens being essentially dirt and dry grass and others being okay. Fairways were lush, and the rough was dormant Bermuda.

Tee boxes were decent. Sand traps were thin and bare.

Pace of play was as fast or as slow as I wanted, there was no one behind or in front of me. I can only remark that I have used the practice facilities here on a non-rainy day, and it tends to get packed.

I might play here again, but not at a premium.

Played Jan 13, 2013. Nice casual vibe to this course. Doesn't quite look as flat as it is, but impinging trees and bunkers add to the challenge. Fairways were firm and fast; very playable. Periphery is largely dirt that doesn't penalize much at all, so wayward shots aren't round-killers. Greens were in good shape, and most of them are fairly flat, which actually is a nice change from some courses. The only sand trap I was in played beautifully. Decent range, although the surface was a bit beat and sandy. Large practice and putting area. Not the kind of course that will wow people, but I had a very enjoyable round.

Played 10/31. $29+tax. 1:07 tee time. Course was in good condition. They have made a few changes since the last time I played this course in May. They cleaned up some of the areas in the rough. They have improved signage on the course. The carts now are equipped with GPS. They have flipped the nines. Now #1 is the Par 5 dogleg left across the street. #18 is now a short Par 4 with water down the right side. (Old #9)

Very straight forward golf course. Most holes are flat and straight. If you go into the rough or desert, you still have a shot. Fairways have come in nice. Rough has been over seeded as well. It's 1"-3" long and easy to hit from. Sand traps were good. Most greens were good. A little slow. 8-9, but they rolled true. Not much break in them. The last three were were not so good. Looked like they had some extra work done on them.

We mostly had the course to ourselves. Not many players out on Halloween. Played in 4 hours. Saw the beverage cart at least 6 times. Beverage prices were much more reasonable then other courses. Good practice range. Course has a good sports bar called Mulligan's. Lots of TV's. Do it yourself outside service. Good value in season.

Played 4/30. TTime 2:20. Paid $25+ tax. Included Green fee & cart. Played the course for the first time six months ago. I gave it a good rating then & I would give it a good rating now. It's a Par 72. 6744 yards. 70.3/125. Course is generally flat with most holes being pretty straightforward. Five holes have water hazards on them, but the water only really comes into play on #s 9 & 13. Course played very firm. The ball got a lot of roll in the fairway and the rough. Greens are large and mostly flat. They were running about a 10. Don't look for subtle breaks in them. Most putts are straight. Good practice range. Small Bucket of balls was $3.50. Saw the beverage cart 3-4 times. No frills on the outside service. They just have a starter. They have a special for the summer. Pay $100 and you can play as many times as you want from May 1 to Sept 12. It seems like a good deal if you live near the course and want to play it at least 5 times this summer.

Played 11/22. Got the TW rate of $29+tax. Teed off (at) 1:30. My review from 3 weeks ago still rings true. The only difference is the greens are much faster than they were last time. We were playing it after they had the club championship. The pins were tucked & the greens were rolling 10.5 to 11. I liked it! They should set the course up that way all the time.

Played 11/1. 1:15 Tee time. Got a rate of $25 +tax. $3.50 for a small bucket of 35 balls. Course was closer to good condition than fair. It was over 6700 yards, Par 72 and pretty flat. All the par 4's are between 350 to 400 yards. Except for #'s 17 & 18 , which are 440 & 430 yards respectively. Most holes play straight away. Fairways were generous and in good condition. Rough was about 3" deep. You could get a decent lie most times, but some lies would sink down deep. Sand traps had good coarse granular sand. Greens were in good condition. They were rolling about 9.5-10. They were very flat. Every putt I had all day was straight. Good course for all levels. It's not difficult for high handicappers, yet if you play well and get a hot putter you can score low. Good practice facility. Saw the bev cart 4-5 times. Mulligans bar was nice. It had lots of TV's for NFL football. Played in exactly 4 hours. I'll submit a few photos.

Picked this tee time up online for 20 so for this time of year it was a bargan. This course seems fairly simple with no real hazzards to contend with. The overseed is in good shape and the greens roll true. The sand in the traps looked good but I did note one that was listed as ground under repair. The course was not that busy so it moved along fairly quickly.
