Arrived today and met up with a former colleague now living here in Maui. Was able to get me a good rate for an afternoon round with him and I had some Troon points to throw in as well. Weather was somewhat overcast like back home but some 20 degrees warmer. And we had no high winds which was nice. The course is one of my favorites to play because it never disappoints me whether I am playing poorly or good. Of course the tee boxes are immaculate. Fairways had nice firmness to them and many of the downhill ones gave great roll out. I felt like I was 20 years younger. Having a local play with you is great as it helps you avoid the areas off the tee that you are not aware of and there are plenty of them. Traps were all playable and the two I was in were groomed expertly. Greens were around 11 but they are large and can easily bring 3 putts into play and chip/putt great. Wonderful customer service from all employees. I feel blessed that I can come over here and play and will keep coming as long as I am able.
