Played this course on Monday as part of a Golf Moose outing. I think I paid $80 to walk. The course is a very hilly but manageable walk. It presents a stout challenge and is in immaculate condition. It plays to a par of 69 and is just 6,000 yards from the tips. Fairways were plush with not a lot of roll, and every green seemed elevated and well protected by deep bunkers filled with fluffy sand. Even if you managed to split the bunkers not many balls seemed to roll up, saw many chips from short of the green. Greens were smooth, rolled true, and were medium fast. Didn't hit many in regulation but they seemed receptive, a good air game is a must to score here. A true 2nd shot golf course.

The course is a stern test for a "short" course, it is rated over par from the tips, and I seemed to have hit an awful lot of woods. The 5 par threes were all a good mix of yardages and challenges. The layout runs thru a tree lined housing tract but the fairways were ample and the houses don't take too much away from a pretty setting in the San Ramon valley. I had no idea what to expect going in and after playing it I can't seem to find enough superlatives to describe it. I highly recommend playing it if you get the chance.
