Balboa played pretty nicely this past Saturday. It's the first time in quite a while I've walked LA Muni fairways that weren't over-watered to the point of killing much of the grass - these fairways ... Continue »

I played in 3:45, teeing off in a foursome at 6:30. The course was in surprisingly good shape, considering the time of year and amount of play. The greens were reasonably good and would be significant... Continue »

Played 1st off this morning. Nice cool, cloudy weather. Got around in under 3 hrs as a twosome. Fun, shortish course. Greens were lush, soft and slow, but actually rolled fairly well. Fairways are the... Continue »

played yesterday, and the course was in the best shape I've ever seen it. The greens were immaculate! Now if people would just fix their ball marks it might stay that way.

Greens were great after Aereation. Tee Boxes pretty tore up (What do you expect when a bunch of duffers play there). Play bogged down in the beginning ( d%mn Duffers), but sped up in the back. Great V... Continue »

Played on 2/23. Fairways were yellow and thin in some spots. Tee boxes slightly beat up. Greens were in fantastic shape, however. 4.5 hours for a round on a municipal course for a Sunday morning is no... Continue »

Considering the amount of rain we've had, the course is in good shape. Greens rolling quite well. Played in 4 hours 30 minutes on Presidents Day, pretty good for a holiday.

Played this morning early... the greens weren't nearly as smooth as they were just last week. The tees and fairways are pretty rough... but hey, beats working!

Not a bad city run course. Wide open and very forgiving. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens are usually in excellent condition.

I've played Balboa at least 50 times. This was absolutely the best shape I've ever seen the greens. Smooth and medium fast. They were great. Unfortunately, the rest of the course is horrible. V... Continue »
