Played yesterday before the rains come. It's my short course for 9 holes and at $17 before twilight it's priced OK to satisfy that need to play.

Greens are in fine shape currently. They roll well (later in the day a bit more bumpier and that's to be expected) but ran with med/fast speed and held their line well enough. Not a lot of subtlety to the course what you see is what you get. Fairways have good coverage and rough is thickish in spots with some bare areas -- also to be expected. Tee boxes are chewed up but playable. Bunkers are OK with a gravelly sand.

Overall course is in decent shape for this time of the year.

Busy day Friday with fivesomes stacked. Greens look to be in pretty good shape. They held their line and were receptive. They may look shaggy and a little bumpy but for the most part ran pretty well and true. Fairways have good coverage; not many thin lies here. Rough is mix of thick to scorched earth. Some of the green complexes have thin lies. Bunkers are hard packed and playable. Tees are flatish and certainly playable.

Pace of play was a slow 2.5 hour round for 9 holes. It was a Friday so what are you expecting and at $17/9 holes not a bad deal if you want to quench that golf bug.

Played on Saturday morning around 9:30 am. We were a twosome that was paired up with a threesome. It was very busy this morning. There were two fivesomes in front us, we were a fivesome and there was a fivesome behind us. Our tee time was 9:20 am but at the time we were to tee off, we were second up. It took us around 3 hours to play 9. We were waiting on just about every hole. Decided to play here as we thought it would be a little cooler than the SFV. Temp was around 80s but with a relative high humidity. Was not very pleasant.

The tee boxes were fairly level with good coverage. The fairways had fairly good coverage for this time of year. On a few holes, they had the sprinklers going on in the middle of the fairways. So on these couple of holes, the fairways were a little wet and mushy. There were yellow spots and bare spots in the fairways here and there. It was still nice to play on. Landed in one bunker and the bunker had a thin layer of sand on top of dirt. Bunker was a little hard packed too. Greens were in good condition. Greens were running a little slow and a little bumpy. There were unrepaired ball marks here and there but that's not the course's fault.

Saw a lot of groups walking as opposed to riding today, which may have also contributed to the slow pace of play. Course is fairly flat. I lke the par 5 fifth hole, which is a long downhill hole toward the lake next to the course. Staff is very friendly here and there is a snack bar here. I didn't realize that there is additional parking off to the side (near the baseball field next door) as the parking lot in front if fairly small and you don't want to park on one end as it is beyond the 9th green. There is no driving range here. The nearby practice center that was privately run is closed.

Not much to say from previous reviews. Greens were recently punched and recovering. I am curious what's going on with the blight that hit their greens recently. Is the punching going to help? It may have. The rains certainly will help the greens heal but the court is still out on what will happen after greens will recover.

Currently greens are bumpy, slow and will not hold a line. You have to muscle the ball to get in into the hole otherwise it will bounce to a stop or just plain bounce off line.

Sand in bunkers is more like a thin gravel. Fairways have good coverage. Rough for the most part is thick and sticky.

Just need to wait for greens to recover before I will play here again. Perhaps another few more weeks before I will approach Harbor again.

What was supposed to be a quick twilight round turned into a skin of our teeth finish to beat the darkness. Never felt really slow but with all the 5somes out there it had to be to arrive at 4:30 and putt out on 9 with little light left.

Still, at $8.50 for a regulation 9, HP can't be topped. Current conditions as follows:

Fairways - great! Excellent coverage after the rains, especially with all the traffic. Never a bad lie on the fairway. They're not cut pristine, but for what you're paying, they're real good.

Tee boxes - Meh. Could definitely be better and a few too uneven.

Rough - not too penal but beware as many string tree roots just below the surface are waiting to snap your club.

Sand - mediocre, but tolerable.

Greens - Really awful right now as they look like lily pads with all sorts of yellow rings from fungus? Mold? Who knows, just know these rings are causing all sorts of weird depressions and causing ball not only to go slow, but also to not roll very true at all. Needs a fix pronto.

Got paired up with some very nice dudes though so all in all it still beats working.

Greens are in decent shape for Harbor with good coverage. Ball will bump about but for the most part a firm put will give you the desired results. I suppose the trick is to have the ball die diving into the hole so be aggressive. Fairways are not dormant. Good coverage. Rough is thick and sticky with bare spots around most of the trees and tree line. Bunkers have a rough form of sand, not feathery. Tee boxes are flat.

Pace of Play was rough for just 9 holes after 3PM. Had to wait on almost every shot but for the price it's enough to settle my need for golf.

Played today because my golf game has gone to pot. Was greeted with some pretty decent conditions for Harbor today. Pace of play another thing entirely but hey it's golf.

Played today because my golf game has gone to pot. Was greeted with some pretty decent conditions for Harbor today. Pace of play another thing entirely but hey it's golf.

Greens rolling pretty well with little bounce. Noticed the greens were a bit scruffy towards the end of the day with the setting sun. Otherwise greens were slow but rolled pretty well. Fairways are in decent shape. Rough is getting thicker. Tee boxes are decent. Bunkers are stocked with something they call sand; more like fine gravel.

Overall happy with conditions. It's a wonderful course even if it is 9 holes. It offers some pretty challenging holes with mature trees bordering both sides of the fairway. No mosquitoes so far I think the revamped Harbor pond improvements have done well for the area. No range after the last wind storm.

Play here again? Of course. It's MY quick fix :D

Greens rolling pretty well, considering cold and rain they hold shots well also. Fairways is your mix of dormant grass and thin lies. Rough is cut to same height as fairways. Sand in bunkers is OK with a thin layer of sand sitting above clay. Tee boxes are flat.

Overall happy with current conditions. It's golf and it's cold so I didn't expect a lot.

Desperate to cram one last round into 2015, busted out of work early around 1pm for a leisurely 9 at HP. Wrong! Got there to a full parking lot and ended up teeing off with the fifth group after arriving. Of course a very slow 5some ahead of us meant we waited on every hole, but the place was packed so I'm sure all experiences today were similar. Still, when you arrive for 9 holes at 1pm and just beat the dark to finish, it's a rough day. Also didn't help to be playing so utterly badly, too. Bring on 2016! Conditions? Fairways are okay - know what you're going to get. Some very tight lies on burned out or dormant grass, and occasionally some green. The tee boxes range from dirt, to hard as nails, to just fine - mixed bag. Rough varies around the course as well but anything just off the fairways won't affect shots much, but you can also easily find dirt and mulch. No bunker play for me today but looked very hardpan and poor. On hole 4 one guy in my group hit a frozen rope into the fairway bunker and it popped out of there like a cannon. The greens are slightly less than okay. Certainly a lot of bumps and damage on occasion, but the speeds were generally consistent and there weren't too many that ended up completely off line. And for the amount of traffic today, totally understandable why they're in the shape they're in. Oh yeah, played the blues for $16, which is a decent price for a regulation 9. It's also not normally THIS slow, but I'm sure I wasn't the only guy who figured there was one more round left in the year! And Happy New Year to all!
