Played with Bahrooz today. I would like to add that I loved this course. It is in great shape. The fairways are lush, the rough is "rough" and the greens were in pretty good shape. I was in the bunker a few times today and would rate them above average. The layout is challenging. There are a number of dogleg holes that make playing very interesting. The tee boxes were in good shape. I play the LA City courses often and I would say that El Dorado is in better shape than any of them. I will definitely be back.

Played 3/5 as a 5some. Got around in about 5:15. This is a fun course (despite the loss of about 5 balls). The fairways are pretty tight and some of the greens are well protected by some serious bunkers. Accuracy is key. The rough is plenty deep, so don't be like me and play your second shots from the deepest rough.

Played El Dorado today thinking it would rain. It must have rained hard before I got there because the fairways were muddy. They need to work on their drainage because it was horrible. Greens were good today, but one green on the back nine was dying or dead. other than that pace was good except for the foursome in front who was playing slow. We were a 5some and still waiting for them to hit. They should not have been playing from the tips. other than that pace was good.

Played at 1 pm twilight and finished hole 18 at 6. Fairways are pretty damp and many puddles in the middle of fairways, almost get better shots from the rough. Not great drainage, as it hasn't raine... Continue »

Played at 1 pm twilight and finished hole 18 at 6. Fairways are pretty damp and many puddles in the middle of fairways, almost get better shots from the rough. Not great drainage, as it hasn't rained for quite a few days. Some nice holes here, but pace is slow. Sand is nice here, greens are fast as well. A nice place to play probably in the summer, might want to wait till after it warms up.

Played here on 1/9. The course was in good shape and it wasn't too busy (maybe because they raised the rates to $37 to walk). We teed-off 10 minutes early and started about a hole behind the foursome in front of us. The marshall was constantly making coments about our fivesome playing slow. Interestingly enough, we caught up to the foursome in the back nine. Because of the marshall's comments, I'm sure our group was not to thrilled with the treatment - since every time he started making his cracks, someone in our group ended up taking more shots than usual.

Aside from the marshall and price hike, the course was in good condition, and the greens were rolling very good (still had some holes with the fungus).

I teed of at about 1:15 on Saturday 11/1 on a cloudy day with scattered showers. The greens, which have been a cause of great concern lately, are still pretty bumpy and slow. There are signs of significant improvement, however. There aren't as many bad spots as there were the last time I played here. I think the greenskeeping staff is letting them grow longer so they fill in before they cut them close. The rest of the course is fine. I just wish they wouldn't allow carts off the paths when it rains. There are tire tracks all over the course, and the area behind the sixteenth green has been virtually destroyed. Still ... a great course.

I grew up playing this course and still love it. A classic tree lined layout that makes you work the ball. This course is always in good shape considering the amount of play the receive. A must play
