Played 11/27 and took 5 1/2 hours to play, typical LV day. I have not played here for 18 months so was happy to see the work taking place to improve the course on the back nine. I found the front right bunker on 13 so I could test the sand. Kudos to the staff for this new sand. It is very fair and for good golfers, very playable, not penal. The rough looked healthy, nice and green. Hope to see new sand in the front nine bunkers the next time I play there.

Played Wed. early AM in about 4:20, $26 to walk ... senior rate available for +60. Fall conditions means there's some areas of matted fairways and rough, and the Poa greens are soft and holding everything ... recently had some light sand added. Front nine bunkers get a bit wet and heavy, nothing too drastic, as long as they've been raked.

Back nine real nice: bunkers are the best I've seen ... similar sand to the renovation at Industry Hills ... white and soft. It's almost like a new course as most holes have changed quite a bit with bunker relocation, new tee boxes, cart paths, and new kikuyu sod they laid down (around 10 acres worth so far). Holes 10 & 18 are under construction now, and when done then they'll stop for the winter and renovate the front nine next spring.

Not much at all has changed since my last review on 11/14. Work continues at a fast pace and was told that back 9 will be completed by Dec 15. Work will begin on front 9 in April. Some rain overnight made areas of the back 9 very muddy and trucks and equipment are driving through # 10 fairway and in front of 18 tee box and around the back of 18 tee box leaving large vehicle tracks. Still a lot of debris in the 18th fairway making it somewhat unplayable if your tee shot goes left over the hill at the directional flag. Overall condition of front 9 is very good and all greens are in very good condition. Number 16 is still playing to a temporary green and it would appear that will continue through the end of the month.

Work continues on the course. Now # 11 is temporary tee while tee box is redone; new tee on # 16 open but temporary green while cart path is rerouted and new bunker in fairway at the dogleg and they redid the bunkers on left approaching green and it appears they removed the bunker right of the green; temp tee on 17 and 18 but would look for tee boxes to open shortly. Holes 12, 13, 14, 15 have IMO turned out great. Was in the bunker on 12 and the new sand is great improvement for bunker shots. They are redoing the bunkers on # 11 and from the looks it will greatly improve the playing of the hole. They intend to do all bunkers, eliminating some of the sharp penalizing edges on many; raising them up and putting new sand in. If what they have already done is any indication, then it will really improve the look and play of the course. We got around in 4 hours this AM and that was with a busy course. Noticing a much more role being played by the marshals in maintaining pace of play.

Great day on a beautiful golf course. Had a 10am tee time on 11\5 and the conditions were awesome. Hard to concentrate when the Pacific Ocean is staring you in the face. Only problem is that lost two Pro V golf balls that I thought hit in the middle of the fairway on 7 and 9 only to not find my ball. Went to a Pro V practice ball and never lost a ball after that. Still working on 16 -18 but will be well worth the wait when they complete the work. Best value for the buck on the West Coast.

With next week being veterans day the course was very quite as the regulars where not requesting tee times for next week, which allowed us to play in 3.5 hours this morning. Front 9 is in very nice shape and while you will notice some marks from the the recent punching it does not effect putting. In fact the green speeds on all the greens seemed to be very good. Sand in the bunkers is raked and several new greens have been added on holes on the back nine. Work continues on 16, 17, 18. Temp tee box 16,17,18 and temp green on 16 as work being done in fairway (looks like several days of work) and new cart path being put in. Hole number 12 and 15 are great improvements from the old holes and they have removed the deep bunker left of 17 green (below the stairs) and moved it more to the left rear of the green. Playing conditions were very good and if you don't mind what I mentioned on 16,17,18 you will find the course to your liking.

Out early yesterday, 10/31, finished in just under 4 hours, walking. Greens back from aeration, some minor holes/bumps still exist, very soft but roll nicely ... will hold anything that lands on them. Tee boxes have some large, bare areas ... not much thought as to where the markers are placed. WARNING: Construction continues on back nine, holes 16-18 have temporary tee boxes along with the re-bunkering project that's going on ... we just took net pars on those holes for posting purposes ... workers and equipment all over the place. Completed work on 12-15 has roped off GUR areas but otherwise I am impressed ... the new bunkers give those holes a whole new look.

Played early Wed., POP was 4:20. $26 to walk. Some patches of brown in fairways and dead areas here and there, it's that time of year and LV does not overseed, but overall the fairways and rough are in decent shape. Some greenside bunkers are thin sand over hardpan, beware. Greens had second side aerated Monday, should be great in about 2-3 weeks. The side where the flag was punched has healed nicely, although they are a bit soft.

Previous review by 24hourgolf pretty much sums up current construction at LV ... very difficult playing back nine with equipment and labor going on, but the results will be worth it once the work is completed.

We played today @ 1PM and they have indeed punched the other half of all greens. But the half that was punched earlier is making a great comeback. The front 9 is in good shape but the back 9 is under construction but with some improvements. The new tee boxes on 13 and 14 are open for play. Upper tee box on 11 is under construction but lower one is open. 12 tee box looks good but not open and new cart path yet to be poured. But there is a new bunker design for 12 that looks really great (old ones gone 2 new in their place). 13 new tee open and new cart path in place and right side of fairway where old path ran is now grass and improves the hole and they redid the bunker and added new sand. 14 new tee open and all new bunker layout in fairway. Really makes the hole look much better but still some construction to play through. But when finished it will make for a much better hole to play. 15 new tee box on right open one on left still closed. But the good news for all you LV regulars is that the 2 bunkers on the left in the fairway are being removed. And the bunker in front of the green is being worked on. 16 tee box is now under construction and temporary tee set up. Work will continue until about Thanksgiving and will then end for the year. They are only working on 3 holes at any given time. And eventually all bunkers on the entire course will be redone. If I missed anything my apologies.
