Played today in a POP of 4 H. Should have been faster (we even went out early) but were paired with 2 very "deliberate" players who slowed us down. We even had to let a group of 3 play through at # 4 and almost had another group catch us? We should have just left them? Course has recently aerated 1/2 of the greens Oct 1. 2nd half to be done in another week? But the greens are not very smooth, especially the aerated side and putting from aerated to non aerated is difficult (we will wait until after DST to return). Tee boxes had some issues. Some were clean and level. Others were not mowed and shaggy. Not in any bunkers and heard no complaints from anyone, either. Fairways were in good shape and provided "decent" roll and good lies, all round. Customer service was excellent at all levels. Personally I don't recommend the course at present.

First off this AM, under the lights on # 1 (as the sun was coming up) and # 2 and the sun was up on # 3. POP was 2.5 H. Course is in really nice condition. Not one issue with a tee box, as they were clean/level. Fairways gave good roll and lies all round. Bunkers (which I luckily found none, are all being redone) are all playable at present. Not much rough outside of the fairways/greens and what is there, is manageable. Greens are really nice at present. All cut, clean and chipping/putting well. Customer service was excellent at all levels. IMO it is recommended and they have some great early times now available. Golfzing is running $25 rounds with cart (or mention it at check in). Excellent GPS in carts.

Played yesterday. Scored my worst round, and it was my fault.
I ended up with 41 putts, 6 more than my average. Definitely spend some time practicing putting on their putting greens before your round... Continue »

The greens are large, firm, fast, and breaks all over. Very fun to challenge yourself.

One cool thing happened - this course uses a starter at the first tee.
By the time we got to the 8th hole our cart was almost dead. The staff actually came out to the 9th hole and gave us a fresh cart without us asking because their GPS enabled carts alerted them our charge was low.
Love that A+ service.

Unfortunately the weather did not wish to play along today as I took on San Dimas Canyon for the first time ever. Had an 8am tee time this Sunday and the course was pretty clear with ominous skies overhead. By the third hole, the rain started coming down and the cold got colder so it was pretty miserable that we waited in the clubhouse for it to clear up after the front nine, but it never did, so we went back out anyway because we're nutso golfers. Luckily it started to break up by the last 4-5 holes so it made it much more enjoyable. I had heard that this was a rather quirky, somewhat gimmicky course from others, and while I can 100% understand why some would feel that way, I actually really thought it was a fun and interesting layout, with the exception of a few holes of course, like the non-existent fairway and lake on the right side from the 11th tee box. That's just 'hit and hope' golf which is not the best. And what's up with the metal utility box right in the middle of the fairway on the 4th hole? Lots of very tight fairways and interesting tee shots on the par 5s, along with elevations, nice water features (even an entire lake pretending to be part of the fairway on the 14th), and some tricky, tiered greens make San Dimas Canyon a fun ride, but one that can also be very frustrating and challenging. Conditions were tough to gauge in an honest way due to the rough conditions, but I would say that the course looked pretty green in the fairways and rough, the greens were in good condition overall (hard to rate speed based on the wetness, and of course that goes for the bunkers as well), but the tee boxes were a bit of a mess - chewed up and plenty where finding a level spot was nigh impossible. That's the trouble area they should really focus on. You'll find a quaint little old-school clubhouse that has a great view of the first and ninth holes as well. POP was fast besides our hiatus to wait out the weather, but of course I gather a lot of people saw the clouds and decided to bail. The carts also had a great looking GPS system but we found their distances to be way off! Anyway, despite a poor round with my new swing tweaks and the terrible weather, I came away with a very warm feeling towards SDCGC and am really looking forward to getting back there on a picture perfect So Cal day to test myself again.

This golf course is very forgiving from the tees with adjacent fairways separated by trees. The greens are well manicured, fast, and challenging with curves, but the greens are also large. This par 72 course has Blue, white, and red tees... Relatively close to each other.

Losing a ball here is tough because OB is easy to avoid and the water holes are also easy to navigate.

This course being in the foothills makes it a little unpredictable when it comes to wind and weather.

The golf carts have GPS screens but they are not reliable. We had wrong pin locations multiple times and distances to the pin would be based off of the incorrect pin locations.

This is a good municipal course for all skill levels. Very affordable and friendly staff.

I would rate it a 3-star course... Out of 5.

Played 4/7 with my brother. We got there 10 minutes after our tee time, but the employees got us out right away. That was great because the course was packed. Pace of play was atrocious. Round took over 6 hours. I understand that sometimes peak weekend golf is slow, but 6.5 hours is RIDICULOUS.

Course was good, except the greens were still healing from getting punched. Very bumpy and slow and covered with sand on most holes.

I thought the layout was pretty good. The course runs through the canyons and it was windy! Made the course play tougher than I expected.

I’ll be back, but only if I can play ahead of the crowd.

Played here 3/31/18 with my brother.We had a 6:30am tee time. Conditions were nice. Greens were manicured and not bumpy, fairways were smooth and tee boxes were for the most part spongy. 18th hole had some major construction on it so they moved the tee boxes up and it's basically a par 3 instead of 4. One thing I was NOT impressed with though was the staff. The guy in the pro-shop was a complete A-hole. No smile, no greeting and told me if my brother wasn't in there to check in we would be put on standby. He said they are holding everyone to their tee times. HOWEVER, I find it real funny how they apparently were holding everyone to their booked tee times but we ended up teeing off 20 minutes later than our tee time we reserved. The guy was cranky, a jerk and downright rude. The woman starter was not too friendly either. I have played here probably 20 times and never encountered this so maybe it was just a bad day for the employees. Either way, they should not treat their customers that way. Oh by the way POP was 4 hours.

Morning tee time today on a cold morning. Course was busy and staff had it well under control. Quite a few torn up tee boxes and unlevel. Fairways and rough were on the thin side with many unfixed divots. Hard hats required on holes 4-7, they squeezed holes on a small piece of land. Greens were in great shape, holding shots and rolling smoothly. Lots of undulations in the surfaces and tough putting downhill. They were starting to aerate the front nine as we finished. POP was 5 1/2 hours
