I played last week, but I went out to the course yesterday (6.8.18) and the course looks great. I feel as though my last review and sngernz's review is accurate. I like sngernz review, because ATGC did have a couple of fairways that have the micro-punch and it shows. If it affects your ball it shouldn't be too sever. But the course LOOKS GREENER than I have seen it in years. The course looks better than I have seen in a long time.

I like what sngernz said about taking a friend or client to ATGC if you want to show off or make them feel special because I always feel that way when I play ATGC as I love that there are no homes on the course and it always feel like a great escape when I play Arroyo.

So, I will rate it slightly higher than I did last time (I don't know what the generator is going to give it, but I give it a 7.8, 7.9), it's GREAT.

I cancelled my AM tee time at El Do and slipped below the Orange curtain on a warm, sunny day to Arroyo Trabuco Friday after reading a couple of complimentary reviews (thanks, guys) and was glad I did. Other than small tine punched greens that rolled medium speed with a few bumps to contend with, the course is in 'great' condition right now (as trevor mentioned several times in his review). In fact, I've never seen the Bermuda looking and playing so nice ... like carpet. Give the greens another week or two to fully heal. In a couple GS bunkers that were well maintained with light, wispy sand. Rough really not much of a factor unless your ball settles down in the Bermuda. Just a fantastic 'out-and-back' course in an open setting as there are no homes to speak of around the course. Cart gal out regularly, marshals do a great job keeping the stragglers moving as PoP was around 4:15. Green fee was $70 walking senior (60+) ... course is walkable if you're prepared. If you want to impress out of town friends or a client, here's the OC course to come to. O'Neils afterward is a great place to hang, great food, and Armando will give you a good pour. Recommended.

Course is great. Start time: 10:06AM. POP just over 4hrs. Greens were great, fairways were great, tee boxes were great and the sand was consistent in all of the traps. After we played, the food was tasty at O'Neill's.

I had a great time here, as the course was great and the weather was prime Scotish weather - cool at 69F and cloudy. The pace of play was the best I've ever had, at no point did we feel rushed/pushed and we were not waiting for the group in front of us at all.

I have written other reviews of ATGC on here before and my review would concur with. The only difference in the course is, as the seasons have an effect on the course, the new groundskeeper there is taking out a lot of bushes, some trees and surround greenery around the greens and tee boxes. I believe the new greenskeepers efforts are paying off in making the course look greener, and they (the efforts) are giving players a better view off of the tee boxes and a better look at the greens and the infinity views as well.

I had a GREAT day playing here, I absolutely love this course.

Tried to get out for super-twilight on Wednesday 5/9/18 - arrived at 3:30 but there’s a members’ skins game every Wednesday that goes off around 3:45pm, then eats into the first couple of ST times, so golfers beware! [This happened 3 weeks ago but I was able to get out ahead of it – I didn’t realize this skins thing happened EVERY week!] Had to wait until 4:33 to tee off with a local, a course employee, and a visitor from Denver who is playing Augusta National (!) next Monday – he volunteers at the tournament and is close to the chief of volunteers, so he plays every year on Staff Day (this will be his 5th time playing). I asked if the course was as amazing as it looks on TV – he said “Every bit!”.

Course conditions are similar to my review of 3 weeks ago. With the late start, we finished #17 in the dark and couldn’t play #18 – bummer. Heads up for those looking for ST on Wednesdays.

Walked on as a single for super-twilight on a sunny, warm Wednesday, 4/25/18. $50 ST rate and sent out immediately (no warmup!) to join a local twosome, in order to beat a member event beginning 3:45pm – thanks to the shop guy for the heads-up. Twosome dumped me after #2, saying they wanted to play ‘speed golf’ – on the 8th tee, they were backed up behind a 3some and “invited” me to rejoin them. Jerks! We pushed the 3some as we could and finished in 3:45.

Course aerated greens a few weeks ago and signs are still evident on some greens. Greens were generally OK – holding shots and most had good but thin coverage. Some scattered bare spots and turf patches on some greens – the upper tier on hole #6 is now open with evident turf patches. Medium speeds and a little bumpy. I saw many recent and old ballmarks on all greens.

Fairways had generally good coverage but lies were thin and tight. Also signs of aerification/verticutting in some fairway/rough areas. A bare lie was more likely than a lush lie. The “always seems to be wet” landing area on #12 is now open and dry and you can get that needed release on your drive on this very long par-4. (But after a good drive I dumped an 8-iron to a front pin into the right bunker – AARRRGGHH!!!) Lots of unfilled divots on all holes.

Rough was hit-or-miss depending on where you were on the course. Sand was in very good condition and very playable. Tees (blue) were set wide and were OK – tee on #4 was sloping behind me. Par-3 tees and drop areas all had divot fill available – too bad few players use them.

Good interactive GPS gives pin location. Course uses entry/exit stakes to control cart damage on fairways. Recommended.

Played Arroyo Trabuco 4/18. Only four weeks since they punched greens and they are in very good shape. Most rolled true. Some need 2 more weeks. The back half of #6 green has new sod and seems to be taking nicely - it looks good but the back half of green is closed for now - flag on the front. Green #8 also has some sod repair on the fringes. Four weeks ago the fairways look like the Sahara desert. Now they are green again with the warmer weather and being able to water. Looks like a golf course again. POP 4 hrs 15 minutes. Overall the course is in very good shape. Great staff. Thanks to the Arroyo team. Nice job!

A few tight lies in the fairways but not a problem. Staff here is great. Service in the restaurant is also much better. Thank you to everyone at Arroyo - well done!

Always a positive experience playing here because the staff is always awesome. Very friendly and accommodating. The only downside is this course is getting a bit pricey.

Conditions were good overall, greens rolled better than I'd seen in some time. The recent rains didn't hurt the fairways, as they were reasonably green/lush. Only in one bunker and it was very nice.

I don't know if it's because I'm getting older or there is just more grass on the fairways, but this course used to play a lot shorter. Just don't get the "run-out" like before.
