Played here 7/31/23. This is not a 2.1 course as previously reviewed. I get the impression last review was based on bar service rather than the course itself. Overall, very good condition, albeit a l... Continue »

Been playing Talega since ~ 2010. Place has gone to way downhill the past few years. Price is ridiculously high and no longer worth it.
Service is also horrible. Went to bar for a beer and asked... Continue »

One of the best finishing holes in OC. Downhill par 4 with water left of the green and no bail out area to the right. It demands a two good shots to make a par. TEE SHOT: Aim just right of the center fairway bunker, hit it well and watch as it bounds down the hill and settles in front of the water about 90 yards from the elevated green. Errant tee shot to the right will find fairway bunkers, shots to the left will be findable , but will give you a down hill lie with almost all carry over the water. The green has a shelf in the back third, but don't go long. Any par on this hole is well deserved in my opinion.

The first really tough hole of the course. Usually a prevailing wind will be right in your face here to a green that runs left and right, but not very deep. Also, it has bunkers in front and behind & water short and left. LONG is dead. The bailout area is short and right, but the tight lie you find there will make an up and down tough. From the whites, this hole is manageable, but from the blues (or tips) it is a BEAST.
