Played it yesterday and it was great as usual. I consider this my home course, even though I only play it once every month or two. The Fazio layout is one of the best I have played. It's a little oasis smack in the middle of Irvine. Aside from the occasional train passing, you'd never know you were near civilization. There is great variety with only a few of the par 4's resembling each other. The conditions are always superb and while the staff can at times be a little snooty, the service is very solid. The only downside is the price. Play the twilight or super twilight and you'll get more than your moneys worth.

course not too difficult but putting here is.

Played 6/5/07. Course was in good condition tee to green. A few holes were a little wet causing the ball to plug. Enjoyed the layout. Very pretty course. Would definitely play again.

Played in a charity event today at Oak Creek. The greens were punched recently, but have recovered nicely. The two problems with most charity events are the scramble format and the forward placement of the tees. White tees only means hitting somewhere between the senior tees and the white tees. Most par 4's played less than 370 yards - most around 350. These events are usually won based upon wedge shots and putting. The winning groups usually have a big bommer - which equates to chipping and putting.

Oak Creek is so boring after playing 4 holes...you feel like you want to go home !

First time playing this course and unfortunately, with them overseeding, it was cart path only. However, this really didn't take away from my playing experience. This is now one of my top courses to play. The layout is awesome! Very visually appealing off the tee box with rolling fairways and a wide open feel that says "Grip it and rip it." Well placed bunkers keep it interesting. Some beautiful water features on several holes. Greens are rolling perfect med/fast right now and are perfectly recovered from aeration. Even with overseeding, course still plays great. Decent length from the black and gold tees. I heard it will path only until Thanksgiving for anyone considering playing. However, even with path only, finished in right around 5 hours with a stop at the turn for the necessary hot dog and drink. Service was exemplory and facilities are top notch. Lighted driving range as well FYI. I was leary of playing here given the high cost and no GPS system (which are my only two complaints). However, if you have the cash, I would HIGHLY recommend playing this course.
