Played on Tues 5/19. The course is in great shape, fairways are green and rolling good, the greens were being sanded as we played. As a result they were playing on the slow side, and in some cases bumpy. The one bunker I was in was all dirt, and hard - not good, SW bounced and shanked my shot. Staff was courteous, and friendly, starter/marshal came around a couple of times to make sure pace was kept up, although there were not many players out on course at the time, finished in a decent 4hrs +. I would give the Goose a solid 9 today. BTW - "cooked the Goose" on this round, shot a best ever here for me, 88, yep. My personal best was 91, not bad - everything just seemed to come together.

Walked on as a single at 1230pm Sunday. Place was empty - everyone waiting for twilight rate at 200pm most likely. $75 with a cart on weekends and holidays now - wonder if there's some resistance to that price. Usual great conditions - but out of drinking water cups on 9th hole - and it was 95 degrees by then. Great pace of play of course, even when I caught up with a husband/wife twosome hitting off different tees. It looked like the twilighters were out in force by then - I spotted several slow, drinking foursomes. But got done in 3 1/2 hours. No more big flies now the dairy is abandoned. Lots of tiny midges/bugs, especially crawling over some greens. My ball had a dozen or more on it sometimes. What a good course overall!

Have played this track 4 times in the last 4 months. Is now part of my normal circuit. Always in very good shape. The course layout allows you to score if you hit the ball well. If you are not hitting it well, you can still scramble on a number of holes. Enough challenge for low handicappers, but you need to move to blue / black tee's to add some length. Overall, a great golfing experience. Not sure about true pace of place as every time I play here I'm part of the dawn patrol getting off in the first 3 groups or so. At that time, we're getting around in 3 hours no problem.

Definitely worth the price, GREAT staff, great experience. Wish they would join the "online" world for tee times though.

So we (4) hit Goose Creek with the beginning of twilight on a Sunday. I think they must space groups out every ten minutes, which sure helps pace of play. Our round was done in 4 1/4 hours and we only caught up to the 3 in front of us at 18. The tee boxes were in good shape, The rough & fairways were very good as well. Some sand traps had a little bit of mud accumulated. Greens were punched a couple of weeks back and it looks they could now roll them as there were some bumps in the road that made our putts go awry. Also there were many ball marks on greens (people...fix yours and one other). The course itself was in great shape and was easily one of the best in the IE. This is a very fair but challenging track. Be aware of flag positions on greens and take with you the hints cheat sheets from GK. It really helps out. A great afternoon of golf can be found at Goose Creek.

Great deal even on the rack rate. Came at twilight (2 pm) on a Wednesday for $39 with a cart. Finished in barely over 3 hours only, in my 3some! It was a little windy and course was not packed, yet not empty either. Conditions here are great from tee to green. Greens have another week to completely heal from aeration, yet still are fine. Everything else was excellent. Fun track, with some good challenges, and a relaxing vibe. I would highly suggest this place to anyone. This course is an excellent deal for what you get. Come and play.

Goose Creek is one of the best courses in Southern California. It is affordably priced, staff is very friendly, course is always in top notch condition. Everything is immaculate -- pro shop, patio, bathrooms. We played it today in 4 hours and 15 minutes. Tee times are spaced 9 minutes apart which gives groups ample time to play a hole without being pushed or rushed. It is worth the drive from Orange County.

Played this afternoon and what a great course! Played Eagle Glen in the morning and this course was 100% greener and in better shape.

Played a twilight on 3/11/09. Stuck behind a twosome with zero, zilch, nada golf etiquette. I had to fix their ball marks.
They were a twosome and couldn't keep up with a walking foursome ahead. On 11. one guy went into the creek with a ball retriever. I thought they had moved up and hit away. Then, as I addressed my second shot, he burst out of the bushes and ran across the green to get to the next tee! ffs!!! If I have any criticism of GCGC, its the marshalling - or lack of. But, I played well - for me !
So no other complaints. The tee-boxes were nigh immaculate as ever. Greens were fine - sand was great.
Prices here have risen - but its still a wonderful golf experience.
