Well, we made our annual trek to the scga. i dunno what to say. one would think the signature course of our golf association would be more presentable. entire course is dormant. dead fairways and rough. only positive was greens and traps, and both were perfect. these were the best greens i'd ever played. firm. smooth. perfect. but, sad that rest of course is very roughshod in winter. so many courses overseed and are beautiful because of it (goose creek comes to mind). i think scga should do the same. it's supposed to be the crown jewel of our golfing association. greeens were; everything else wasn't.

Played 11/11 on a cool, windy day. Last week they had a PGA sectional qualifier here so the rough was up and the greens were ultrafast. Downhill putts were amazingly fast. The fairways were spotty at best and the traps had uneven sand levels in the three traps I had the misfortune to land in. This was my first time to play here and it is plenty of golf course from the white tees. Play more break than on any course in Southern California.

played Sunday and round took forever. our tee time was for 9am and we got off at 9:42. group in front of us was 1 to 2 holes behind most of the time and the marshal did nothing about it. on the good side, course was in pretty good shape and the greens were the fastest i have played. they are having PGA qualifing out there this week, so that is why. anyway, this is my favorite course, but hopefully next time play will be at a better pace!!

Played 8/19. Been 6 months since I've played here at what a difference. A course that was on my favorites list is no longer. What a disappointment. I can understand that the heat is a factor, but more than a few greens were burnt, to the point of being nothing but bare dirt. On a few of the greens, the apron was so dead that you couldn't "bump and run" shots up onto the green. Some of the greens had "kukuya" infestation. Which made for terrible putting. POP was okay 4.5 to play on a Saturday. But for what I paid to play, I expect better course conditions, better customer service, and marshalls that do more than wave at everyone. My hometown muni is in better shape. Hopefully when the close the course down for 2 days in Sept, they can give this place some TLC and get it back in shape

Played 8/27. The course conditions are not great. I would say the conditions reminded me of a muni course. Some greens were in very bad shape. The fairways were thinning out. It may because of the heat but you would expect more from a course of this stature. I would wait until the heat tapers down and they're able to bring back the greens and fairways to come out this far to play again.

Played on Friday, August 18 with a tee time around 11:00 am. Took about 4 1/2 hours to play. The greens are in excellent shape and fast. There were not too many predominant breaks on the greens. Kept missing putts. Liked the layout of the course. There were not many parallel holes. Has a country club feel to this course. Water comes into play on several holes. Some of the fairways looked beat up from the hot weather in this area (dry/thin in spots). Also some fairways had a lot of divots. Would play here more often except for the fact this course is 2 hours away from home! Great price to play if you're an SCGA member.

If not, the marshalls actually do their job and move things along. Overall, the course was awesome as far as the layout and the conditions. We played with a local who helped us to manage the course. I would definitely go back here! I just wish it wasn't so far away.
