WOW, WHAT A REALLY CRAPPY COURSE. THESE WERE SOME OF THE WORSE CONDITIONS I HAVE EVER SEEN. I THOUGHT I WOULD TREAT MYSELF TO SOME UPPER CALIBER GOLF, SO I DROVE OVER 90 MINUTES TO GET TO THIS DOG TRACK AFTER READING SOME OF THE REVIEWS. THERE WAS MORE DIRT THAN GRASS IN THE FAIRWAYS. THE COURSE WAS DOING FERTILIZATION SO THE SPRINKLERS WOULD TURN ON AT RANDOM TIMES. TWICE WHILE WE WERE PUTTING, THEY CAME ON AND SOAKED OUR CART AND BAGS. WHAT A BUNCH OF BULL#%*! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY DRIVING TO THIS COURSE FOR QUITE A WHILE. I WASN'T THE ONLY ONE WHO WAS PISSED. ANOTHER FELLOW IN THE BATHROOM WAS REALLY UPSET. HE HAD DRIVEN THERE FROM SANTA BARBARA.

Played Soboba Country Club on 6/4 at 8:30am. When we arrived, the staff greeted us warmly. The guy who was working the register asked if we'd been told about the playing conditions when we made the reservation. After I told him that I had not been notified, he apologized and let us know that the rough was in really bad shape and was extremely bare, but that the greens, tee boxes, and fairways were in excellent condition. He again apologized and offered us $15 off our green fees. I am really glad that we ended up playing. The greens, fairways, and tee boxes were in immaculate shape. I haven't played there since they redid the course a few years ago. They didn't really change the design of the course, but they lengthened it and moved the tee boxes to trickier positions, and added a bunch of bunkers. They also changed the routing of the course. It was a real treat!

Played on 4-23-10 for $40.00 on a course special due to aeration of the greens. You couldn't even tell the greens were aerated as they were smooth and fast. Fairways and tee boxes are in great shape... Continue »

Played on 4-23-10 for $40.00 on a course special due to aeration of the greens. You couldn't even tell the greens were aerated as they were smooth and fast. Fairways and tee boxes are in great shape and the rough is being worked on extensively for the Nationwide tour. Service is first rate as you are met with your cart and practice balls. Starter is friendly and helpful if you never played the course. Will go back as often as I can.

Played Monday 12-28-09. I used my free round I earned from Golfnow.com. This course is awesome. I haven't played here for three years, but the improvements are great. Some of the pin placements are impossible to keep your ball from rolling off the green. You can also lose a ball under the thousands of leaves throughout the course. The fairways are like carpet and the greens are firm, but will hold shots, only if they come in a little high. If your a Good player and want to know what the PGA tour players play on, go play the Back Tees on this course. The bunkers are great and the the driving range (grass) is excellent. Staff was nice and the clubhouse first class. The GPS system is the best. Go Play this course.

The fairways and teeboxes were overseeded so it was a little harder to make good contact on the ball. im sure they will be in great condition in no time. the greens were super fast and if you missed the green or even the pin for that matter on the wrong side, then you were probably facing at least 3 shots from there to get in the hole. the pace of play was slow because it was cart path only. the super long rough didnt' help because we had a few moments when we knew our ball was there but just couldnt' find it.
for the price, it wasn't bad. you get free range balls and tees, and the course was really nice.
before going i checked out the photos on this site and i thought was going to be easy. the greens are firm and don't hold spin that well and the water and trees make most of the tee shots pretty demanding. overall i had a good time, but if i take into consideration the almost 2 hour drive, i probably won't be back for a while.

Played 36 on 09/15/09. Had not played the course in 8 years, 1st time since the renovation and new clubhouse. The Facility and pro shop staff were excellent. The course is in great shape, with the rough very high for the Nationwide event. Course is tree lined, traditional style with a lot of sand and water. No two holes are the same and not a bad hole in the layout. Plays a liitle short and the greens were a little slow that day, but they were in great shape and held well. $35 dollar green fees, $25 dollar replay, and with 1$ sodas and chips, you can't find a better deal.

Played on 09/14/09 at 9am.First time there since new clubhouse has been built(very nice).The staff is excellant from the pro shop to the starter.The course is in very good shape.The rough is very high,which is the only defense the course has because it is not the longest track.The greens were in great shape,although they ran a little slow on the day I played but they will be lightning fast for the nationwide event.I had heard the fairways were very thin but I thought they were cut perfect.Had to keep cart on the cart path but for $35,you cant beat it.Get out and enjoy.

I drove almost 2 hours out to cow country to play this course as suggested by a fellow greenskeeper member. I was happy to do so b/c of the upcoming Nationwide event being played there soon. Figured the course would be near immaculate...not so much. The problem were the fairways. The starter told me the tour asked them to switch from rye to bermuda. Unfortunately, the bermuda didn't take as they planned so there are bare spots everywhere. I say they've got there work cut out for them with only 5 weeks to go. He also mentioned the course was immaculate prior to redoing the fairways...it must be a real bummer for the staff.

The rest of the course looks great: rough is deep and thick, bunkers have snow white soft sand and the greens are a little slow but perfectly smooth. Customer service was fantastic and the clubhouse beautiful. I'm curious to see how low these guys can go on this course; one of the guys I played with had 5 birdies on the card.

Aeration Alert. They are redoing the fairways to get them ready for the Nationwide Tour event in a couple of months. Fairways are pretty thin since they are changing grass, but still very playable. All other areas were pristine. Tee boxes, rough, and greens were pretty much all you can ask for. The bunkers are gems. I was in a few of them and the sand is soft and white Augusta-like quality. Current there isn't many people out playing and I played 18 holes solo in just over 2 hours. They have free range for customers and 2 greens to putt/chip. Very friendly staff. Come here after a few more weeks pass by and you will have no complaints at all. A very nice course and I would not pass up a chance to play here again. Stock rates are a bargain for what you get and currently they are even cheaper due to the fairway work.
