Had a few hours to kill in the High Desert so decided to play Green Tree. The pace of play was amazing. 5 hours for 36 holes. Green fees were very reasonable, $42 for Monday morning with a $18 replay rate for second 18. The course was empty and I felt like I had the course to myself.

The tee boxes were mostly level and always had a good level area to tee off from. Fairways weren't the greenest but mostly had good lies. I don't know if it was the lack of play, but greens were very smooth. Bunkers were horrible. Greenside bunkers were so hard that 3 of 5 shots I hit into the bunker just rolled out to the fringe. Two shots that actually ended up in the bunker had to be played like hitting on the cart path.

The staff was friendly, especially the marshall Dino who noticed I'm not a local and haven't played the course before gave me some tips before teeing off.

It was a Monday... but when I got done and signed for returning the cart, I saw there were only 11 carts signed out for the whole day. Hopefully City of Victorville will keep the golf course. They just completed a nice club house and apparently, decided to open a library instead of a full-service restaurant.
