Played here on sunday 5/27, memorial day weekend. The course was pretty wide open. I gotta remember, play golf memorial day weekend if i don't go out of town. I guess it's a slow (in terms or business) weekend for golf courses since lots of people take trips.

Reviewing this course is kind of getting old. Same usual nice relaxing day at sierra. not much to complain about. good condition overall. One unusual thing that i haven't experience at this course was that the greens were pretty firm that my balls were bouncing pretty high. I don't think i've ever seen that at this course. I'm not sure if the course has a control over the firmness of the green but it was definitely the firmest i've ever seen at sierra.

Played 5-15-12 at 1pm following a tournament. Tournament seemed extremely unorganized with people yelling and scrambling before heading off to their tee's. I have not had this anywhere else and maybe it was because of the tournament but the pro shop would not let us check in more than 20 mins early. First 2 holes went by fast and smooth and as we came to the 3rd tee a group had barely tee'd off and a twosome in front of us that still had to wait to tee it up also. From then on it was very slow going for a couple holes and then picked up speed for a couple holes after the marshal told them to pick up the pace. Making the turn to 10 things grid locked and we waited 20+ mins to tee it up. It seemed like a 6+ hour round but turned out to be a touch over 5-1/2. Course is in very good condition tee to green except for no one repairing their ball marks but the guys in the pro shop behind the counter need to go. A few have been there for a long time but they couldn't possibly be any less interested in their customers and they are always a slight bit rude. However the upper management Rick and Ben are great guys and I will still recommend this course to others but be sure there are no tourney's going on that day and no fivesomes.

One of the nicest conditioned courses anywhere. Greens were fast and smooth. (Hole 15 had very small aerated holes to help get it into the same lushness as the others, but it rolled very well too.) Fairways were all like carpet. Rough was very penal in some areas, and just long enough in other areas to be of concern, -like rough should be. The tee boxes were also excellent and the three bunkers I was in were all fluffy and easy to nice out of.

Customer service was was also top-notch and the pace-of-play was right at four hours.

SL is a can't-miss spot right now.

Played on 4/27 morning and 4/29 afternoon. Another fun golfing day at Sierra Lakes. This is one of those courses that I can't really complain about. Always enjoy my round year. Greens are not crazy fast anymore compared to when i played like 3~4 weeks ago. But the curve ball this time around was the roughs. They are pretty long. If you miss the fairway, you need to pay attention or you'll have hard time finding you ball. I lost 2 balls in the rough which is one of the most frustrating thing for me. Chipping around the greens were tougher too especially when the balls were sitting in the thick rough.
Another thing i noticed yesterday was no one repairs divot marks on the green. Why people why? May be course should put a little sign near the green like some of the other courses.

Played 9 holes yesterday after work. Course is in good shape. Tee boxes are good. Greens are rolling pretty good and quick but you can still see that they were aerated not that long ago. Greens are firm so aim a little short of the hole. Most bunkers look to have a sand upgrade! Even the fairway bunkers which I found 2 of and they were perfect. Fairways were good as well as the rough but the Bermuda is coming back and it looks patchy but is very lush everywhere. Sign up for their email list and you can save a few bucks.

Sierra is fully healed from their punching about a month ago and the greens are nearly perfect. The recent rains made them very receptive but they are lightning fast and roll true. It is definitely wise to stay below the hole. The course has a few large stormwater ponds that will take a few days to drain on holes 11 and 14 that do come into play. Other than that the fairways are in very good shape as are the tee boxes. At any rate, this round was worth the greens fee for the greens alone.

Played 3-21-12. Greens are still recovering from punching but getting there. Course overall is in good shape. Fairways are in better shape than a month ago. Only in 2 bunkers but sand was good. Soft around greens and hard packed in the fairways. Not the most exciting course to play but good solid golf course.
