Played on 4/7 with an early tee time (6:45a). Completed our round in 3 1/2 hours which was great. Course was in great shape!! Course was challenging and although there were houses on the course they were all pretty far back so never much of a concern. Rough was long, which penalized you if you went too deep. Greens were in good shape, not too firm or too soft. There were a number of water holes. Even though it was early and somewhat cold cart girl was still on the course. One thing to beware of is the wind! The wind will punish you when it is blowing, so make sure the weather is right. All in all a very nice course well worth the $40 I paid. Definitely recommend this course and will play it again.

Course was in excellent shape. Tee boxes level and very few divots. The fairways were perfect. Really nice lies everywhere. Greens have recovered nicely for being punched about a month ago.Very smooth and quick. I was in two bunkers and the sand was a little wet and firm.
The staff was friendly and saw the cart three times.Overall a very nice round.
Will be back soon.

Played a round for $39.00 w/cart at Sierra Lakes this morning with my regular group. I was really looking forward to playing this track again because this scoring at this track seems to be a little easier for my style of play.

Got the course about 40-minutes before our tee time and had a chance to hit a warm up basket on the range. To my surprise, half of the range was using mats and the other half allowed hitting off of the grass. I am not really fond of all bright yellow range balls. We hit the practice putting green and they rolled true and fast.

We took a glance at the tee box and noticed there was a group that just tee'd off and another group in front of us waiting to tee off and we knew that it was destined to be a long round. However, to our delight the groups in front of us were rather quick and the day started off on the right foot!

Immediately, we noticed a lot of bare spots on the fairways. I am starting to believe the recent cold winter months we have had here is affecting a lot of the local courses. Also, the tee boxes could have been in better shape. The fairways were tight and the ball would roll at least an extra 15-20 yards depending on your shot. Approach shots were nice with decent pin locations and not a lot of false fronts or multi-tier greens. The bunkers were in worst shape from the last time I played here which was not that long ago. Tons of little rocks and something that appeared to be sand but was not.

When we approached #9, the wind picked up out of nowhere and it was howling. We noticed that the groups behind us started dropping off like flies. I have heard horror stories about the wind at Lost Canyons and this would easily compare if not, worse. We all decided that we would continue to play as a lot of the other groups called it quits by Hole #12.

The wind was bad enough where you couldn't stand still over your ball when trying to put. It was difficult to swing the driver on the tee shots due to the wind catching your driver head. If you are a high ball hitter, forget it. We played this one par 3 hole (157 yards) for 210 yards and still came up a little short.

The rest of the day was basically practicing your punch shots with every single club. Putting was very difficult due to the wind moving the ball around after it had already come to rest. Wind burns, no beverage cart person, cold winds made it an extremely long day.

The starter said that the wind blowing this strong is normal this time of year for this track as well as Oak Quarry and Empire Lakes and for the most part, Inland Empire tracks. In spite of it all, I personally had a good time even though my lips are chapped, lost a few balls and got wind burns on my face.

Played 12/24 got out at 8:45 and finished in 4 hrs and 20 minutes. The course was in really good shape considering all of the rain in the last week. Tee boxes were level and not many divots. Almost all of the fairways were very playable except for two of the par 4’s on the back nine which are now par 3’s. One was very muddy and #14 was a lake. I think the staff has done a wonderful job to make this course enjoyable.
Greens were a little slow due to still being wet. Overall a nice round. I will be going back on Sunday if the rain goes away.

I actually played on opening day and can recall the greens hard, fairways still was not matured yet.
Now? It's turned out to be IMO 1 of the best in the area especially for the price.

Played here for the Golfnow.com rate of $39.00 early morning. Not a bad price at all since this course charges about $70.00 regularly for the same time slot. When I checked in, the started was nice enough to remind me that if I wanted to avoid any service charges from the internet sites, I could book directly with the course by using their Donovan Dailey rate of $39.00. Not a bad deal at all.

I showed up about an hour early and out of nowhere, the wind started to blow. NOT a breeze but, borderline tornado - well, it felt like it. I have never played golf in these conditions so we headed off to the range to warm up - more like learn how to hit knock down shots!

The practice putting greens were nice - smooth and fast. I was looking forward to seeing if the course greens were going to roll as nicely as the practice green. The course was wide open. And, if it was because we decided to play on Wednesday, I will start playing on Wednesdays.

The first tee box was nice and level. Fairways were really green, cut low and perfect for adding about 20-25 yards to your drive - talk about confidence builder! The wind was definitely blowing and luckily for us, it was a tail wind on the first tee. I knocked my tee shot to about 60-yards to the flag and made bogey - the greens were fast, remember? LOL.

The rest of the day went smoothly. Unfortunately, we never ran into the cart person. However, we did manage to finish the front in just under 2-hours. Loaded up with food and coffee and the turn and started the back 9.

There are plenty of scoring opportunities with this track. But, you have to keep the ball in the fairway. I have played many courses with better guarded greens so, take advantage of this track. Don't get me wrong, this is not a pushover track. You also have to be mindful of the wind. I guess this area is known for wind this time of year - the "Santa Ana's." I misjudged a simple Par 3 and clubbed up when I should have clubbed down. I ended up doubling what should have been an easy par and eventually shot an 88.

Not a bad day. Finished the complete round in just a little of 4-hours and worked on the knock down shot quite a bit. Had it been a "normal day" I could have possibly shot in the low 80's. This track is definitely well worth the money and the fun factor is high on the list.

For those that are great with knock down shots, you will do fine - maybe even great!
