Snuck out of work yesterday, Monday, 7/29, wide open tee sheet. $69 for SD county resident with a cart. Tee off time was 11:11am. Good value this day and age.

POP was not a factor. I played as a single and didn't see one person/group in front of me all day. Let a single play through on 14 because I was playing three balls, still finished in 3hrs. I played one ball down as my main score and then the other two balls I played as a scramble. Had a blast!! shot 85 with the one ball and 74 with the scramble. If you have an opportunity to do this and you don't care about posting a score, I highly recommend.

Course conditions were good for the most part. I played the black tees and they were all in great shape. Level and perfect coverage, even on the par3's which are all excellent holes.

Fairways were in OK shape. Lots of GUR on the front nine. Definitley better on the back nine. They are doing a lot of work on the fairways and trying to bring them back to their luster. I'm short off the tee but need to play the blacks based on my 8index, so perhaps I wasn't in the proper "landing zone" some of the time. Definitely not the highlight, but they were playable. I bet in a month or so after they're doing all the maintenance, they will be awesome.

Traps were pretty poor, definitely the lowlight. Hard pan underneath about half inch of soft stuff. Very challenging.

Rough: avoid at all costs!! It's Torrey brutal in most places right now. Very difficult to even find your ball let alone play through it. I don't remember being like this in the past, hopefully they mow it within the next few days.

Greens were great. Advertised at 10.5 on the stimp on the sign at the proshop. They were smooth and held shots very well, almost too well! Backed up a number of short irons and wedges and made large ball marks. Everyone seemed to be doing a good job repairing their marks, I didn't notice too many unfixed marks and I was very diligent about repairing all of mine as often times I made three ball marks.

Customer service was great. Marco in the proshop was very cordial. Guys outside at the cart staging were also great. Saw beverage cart a few times but didn't need anything, brought my own water as it was a warm one out there.

Overall I would recommend the course, great layout. Maybe give it a few more weeks for the fairways to get in better shape, but if you can find a wide open day like I did yesterday, get on out there, it was a blast.
