Played today, it is truly a great course. Fairways are in nice shape and greens are smooth, but super speedy. Rough is uneven, but in good shape, too. Not sure about bunkers, didn't ever get in one! Worth the green fee. To score low here, stay in the fairway, trees will eat your shot!

This is the best value at $38 with golf cart. The course is a muni track but NOT a cow pasture! The layout is good, and there is plenty of tree trouble and you are penalized for poor shots. I enjoyed playing the course - it has a blue collar, down to earth, unassuming atmosphere and feel. Besides the beautiful trees, the fairways probably represent the best of the course, although the rough and "in-between-fairway" areas are unremarkable or downright poor. The greens are so-so, but at least on the day I played (May 21st), whomever cut the holes did a very poor job (putts without pace "ricocheted" off of the edge of some of the holes). However, for the money, what do you expect?

Walked on 4/30 0600 with no one else anywhere on the course. Morning special of $38 w/cart and hotdog is an excellent price for this quality of a course. Greens had just been punched last week but were well on the way to recovery with very few having any serious maintenance issues, though all were fairly bumpy due to punching. Fairways and tee boxes were in excellent shape with rough long enough to require extra care when hitting out of. Plus, a bonus $5 off coupon due to punchjing for my next visit. Customer service at this course is top notch!!!! The only problems are the crappy (and I mean CRAPPY) score card, it is certainly not one to keep for a souvenir, no yardage book and very little yardage markers other than the colors down the center of the fairway, 15 fairway is mismarked and 18 doesn't have a tee box marker to reference yardage. HOWEVER, other than the score card everything else is easily overcome and doesn't really affect play too much. NOTE: The fence around the driving range is down and looking for a ball down the left side becomes a little frustrating, plus those that can't read and hit D/3W on the practice tee when advised not to can easily hit into the fairway around the 100 yd marker so be carefull!!

Played 23 June 0615 tee time, slightly overcast making for a cool round with no one around ahead or behind by several holes. Ivanhoe is in much better shape than the Lakes, a little too much water in some areas and around the edges of greens, making the fringes rather spongy and the making the bump and runs rather harder than they should have been. Overall the course is in excellent shape and very enjoyable.

Played 4/25. A nice classic course that has declined over the past year or two. The greens had been recently punched, but also did not appear to be in very good shape prior to the punching. The greens used to be very good. The fairways were in just fair shape which has always been the norm here. The rough was very inconsistent with different grasses and some patches that were unmowed and 3-4" deep right next to more standard length areas. I did not happen to find my way into any bunkers, but they appeared to be pretty good. A good bargain and a nice layout but in worse shape overall than in the past. I would rate it a 6.5.

Played 1/23. Course is in good shape. It had rained the day before but there was barely a sign of it on the course. Greens rolled true with medium pace, fairways are on the thin side but you still get a good lie. Pace of play was excellent. This course requires straight driving and good lag putting on the large greens. There is still some construction between holes 15 and 16 but it isn't really a factor. Customer service is always very good here.

Walked in 4 hours from the tips. $30 after 1pm on weekends to walk is a very good deal for this course, which in my opinion, is one of the most underrated courses in SD.

MAJOR CONSTRUCTION going on #15,16, & 17. #16 the tees were moved forward making it driveable. Worth the $30 w/ a cart.
