Walked the blacks as a single yesterday monday 10/5/26 afternoon joing a friendly two ball and single with POP around 4 hours 45 minutes following a corporate tournament event the course had yesterday. As I looked around I was the only one walking. Weather was low 80s with a nice 10mph breeze cooling the temps down mid round for us...basically perfect scoring golf weather. Met by friendly staff in the shop and used their all grass range for small bucket just before tee off. Greens were in great shape rolling an 11 on the stimp. Holding approach shots nicely and really checking up on uphill chips. Just a smooth pure roll here as usual. Stay below the hole on some of their massive green complexes. Enough potato chip swales here where u really need to negotiate speed and line well or u can get humbled here quickly on the greens. Rated 9/10 The tees were very lush and some of the tips had unlevel stances on some of the holes(6 comes to mind). Rated 7/10 Was not in any bunkers but the ones I walked by had muddy/brownish sand that looked damp and wet. Rough was really mowed down to playable length just off the fairways. Mostly green and lush. Had a great striking day so stayed inside the cartpaths all day. Did notice that they have completely cut down the native areas left of 13, left of 14, between 15/16 and right of 17 Im assuming for POP. Rough rating 7/10 The fairways had many unrepaired sections of grass that were bare, muddy or super thin...hole 14 middle of the fairway comes to mind. Was in 12/14 fairways and this was the poorest Ive seen tbe fairways. Hopefully with some winter rains and the grounds crews working on those areas they will be back to normal soon. Rated 5.5/10 Love the layout here and putting these challenging greens. Throw in the Ocean views and I can see why its a favorite of mine and many others.
