Got a nice tee time as a single. 9:30 on a Sunday morning. Play a little slow as we were Devon group out after a tournament. Golf course in very good condition. Will play again as there are some things learned about the layout first time around that can save a couple of strokes. Pace of play moderate to good.

Excellent value for the money. One of the best maintained low cost public courses in the area. Layout is great. The only fault this course has is the desert area which is just off the greens and fairways on many holes. There is little transition from rough to desert and the desert area is filled with small rocks that damage clubs. Management should take the time to replace the rocks with sand or other material that does not damage clubs. Until such a time I recommend either taking relief or bringing an old 5 iron to use.

Of course, I had plenty of daylight after 36 at Verrado, so I wasn't going to stop. I headed over to Sundance and it wasn't too busy. $19 (plus tax) for 18 holes with a cart was a great deal. I had the whole front nine to myself and sprinted through in about 45 minutes. Then, as always seems to happen, things changed dramatically at the turn. Suddenly I ran into a bunch of groups and had nowhere to go. It seemed to take forever, but I still finished all 18 in well under 3 hours. I guess I can't really complain. The course was in decent condition, playing better than it looked. The grass is browning out and ready for transition soon. However, the course played pretty well overall. Tee boxes were good. Generally had good fairway lies with some thin spots here and there. Rough a little spottier, but still pretty decent. I wasn't in any bunkers, so no comments there. Greens didn't look pretty (lots of brown spots), but they played nicest of any greens on the day. They were firm, yet plenty receptive on approaches and rolling fast and smooth on putts. I didn't expect much from Sundance, but it has always teased me from the side of the freeway every time I drove by. Finally felt good to check it off the list. I like sparky14's review of it. In most ways, the course is exactly what you expect. Pretty basic course winding through the community. At the same time, it does have some subtle charm and character that may grow on you. There is some slight undulation and mounding throughout fairways and around greens. There are numerous times where you have to hit over a little strip of desert (small trees, bushes and sand) and that breaks up the monotony. Ultimately, Sundance is certainly not worth going out of your way for like Verrado, but it's an affordable and convenient local option that provides just enough to keep you entertained. Take it for what it is.

Played 10/6. Course was just coming off of fall maintenance, so it was cart path only and the grass was shaggy. That being said, the course was beautiful green, the grass everywhere was plush. When they do get around to cutting the course at normal length it will be excellent.

Sundance has most of the things I hate in a golf course: (1) flat layout, (2) winding through a housing community, (3) runs up against a freeway. However, this is probably the best track I have ever played that met all 3. It is a great layout, playable but difficult enough. There is lots of room on all holes, the houses don't seem to be in the way at all.

Highly recommended and I look forward to returning.

My journey took me next to Buckeye AZ to play Sundance Golf Club. Played here on the 18th of March. POP was just at 4.5 HRS. Again this is a good course to get the juices flowing. The course winds its way through a middle class neighborhood and has a few holes that involve water. The real challenge here is keeping your ball in the fairway. Although there is plenty of manicured dessert to deal with the fairways are rather tight with plenty of OB. Fairways are lush and very green, rough was a mix of lush and slightly thin, coming in well from dormancy. Tee boxes were better than average with some divots damage on the par threes. The sand quality here is a little (iffy) heavy brown maybe 3-4 inches but very difficult to play from.
Greens are in terrific shape, held all shots well and were medium fast about a 9, with little to know ball mark damage and rolled true.
The practice facilities here are excellent with a well maintained large range and a huge practice green that shows you what to expect when on the course. The rack rate here is only 35.00 dollars possibly because it is out of the way, but a fun course none the less. For the fee and conditions this was a good place to play the staff here should be proud of what they have made.

This course is short but very challenging!!! There are a few split fairwarys and to include three fairways that you either have to layup or try to muscle up. The greens were in good shape and overall so was the course. This is a desert course so you really have to keep in in the fairway otherwise you are ending up in the rocks, which is bad for your clubs. Another challenge with this course is the wind, It can really whip up. At times I was hitting a 4 iron from 160 - 175 yards. Although the course, in total, is short, the Par 3's are all pretty long, especially with the wind.

Service is pretty good. I teed off at 6:42a and still saw the cart girl 3 times. Also, the course had a ranger out who patrolled the course to maintain pace of play. We finished in under 4 hours. I strongly recommend this course, especially for the money.

Played Sat 1/04/08. Course crowded but not overbooked. Good facilities, driving range, putting green.

Course rating from Black: 72.0/127, Gold: 69.4/119. Runs all through a housing development, desert golf with lots of rocky areas if you miss wide. A number of forced carries, very fair. No major elevation changes, but enough hills and strategically placed bunkers and desert areas to make you think about your shot. Many greens are contoured and you must hit to the right level to have a chance at par.

Course conditions: tee boxes in excellent shape, course in very good shape with some areas of wear or dirt where fairway should be, and greens in very good shape, too. Difficult to read some of the breaks, but overall a fun course to play. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The greens showed a number of spots where the mower blades had been too low and scalped the grass down to dirt. Overall a good course, but will be even better when the greens come back to life.

as of friday nov.2, they greens are not in good shape. they had problems with the seed taking so the greens are in bad shape. they are very slow and rough with grass seed every where.
