Was originally planning to play here Tuesday morning, but we finished so early at Grizzly that we decided to come over here Monday evening and take advantage of better twilight rate. Still $75 with an NCGA twilight rate, but Tahoe/Truckee golf isn't cheap. We saw a group going off hole 1 as we got over there and hole 10 was wide open, so we decided to start on the back nine. It was a good move because we played the entire back nine without running into anyone. We did play through a few people on the front and had to wait at times, but it worked out to be another quick round to cap off an incredible 72-hole day in the mountains.

The course was in very good condition. Tee boxes and fairways were in really nice shape. Still on the soft side, but definitely better than most of the overwatered courses we played. Rough cut down and not too much of a factor, but great coverage throughout. Bunkers good and greens great—firm and rolling well at medium speeds.

I enjoyed this course on all levels. It's fairly forgiving off the tee and it's not overly tricked out, but there are some fun holes and the greens are quite undulated. Some big bunkers guarding the greens too, so the green complexes are definitely the course's biggest defense. Otherwise, a great resort-level course in a beautiful setting—yet another wonderful Tahoe area course!!!

Played 6/30, 9am shotgun, as part of a 4 day golf trip. My personal ranking of the 4 I played: Incline Village Championship Course, Old Greenwood, Edgewood, Gray's Crossing. Though all 4 are really great and fun.

So, this was my least favorite. But it is a beautiful Sierra course, worthy of its peers. I felt the course was the least interesting. Driver, iron. Driver, iron. Most of the holes were straightforward. There was 1 or 2 driveable par 4s. A couple of the par5s were reachable. Some water features and forced carries made some of the holes interesting. I had fun, but I had more fun at the other 3 courses. But don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful course, in great shape.

The weather was sunny, mild wind. Altitude was worth a club. Had a good time overall.

Played 9/3/2014 at 11:20, temp in high 70s with swirling wind but nothing above 10 mph. My first visit to this course. We had booked online at a $175 rate, but they were having a special M/T/W rate this week of $100.

At $100 this course is a steal. Really nice layout mostly in a valley or meadow among lots of pine trees. Although this is still mountain golf, the course is quite fair. Most of the lies are relatively flat and most of the greens have only subtle breaks (unlike my round the day before at Incline Village).

Since I play a lot in Nevada, this short side trip to Truckee was a surprise since the greens are bent grass. You can actually leave a ball mark and the greens have lots of grain.

Absolutely no complaints about course conditions. Greens, fairways, rough and tees were all nicely green and smooth. Bunkers were also good.

Pace of play was somewhat disappointing since we were behind two foursomes that had a joint game ongoing. All were playing the Blues and the group in front of us was overmatched by the blue yardage. The marshal was on their case but there was only so much he could do.

Amentities:
Great practice facilities. Range balls included in cost. Grass hitting areas, two putting greens and a practice chipping/bunker area.
Electric carts with complimentary water in the ice chest. No GPS and no ball washer on the cart. You definitely need GPS as there are a lot of hidden areas to carry in the fairway, mostly on your approach shot to the green. Beverage cart service was regular and the bag guys were friendly and helpful with tips about playing the course.

A nice variety of short and long, straight and dogleg holes. But lots of pine trees along the sides of each hole, so straightness if critical. It was a perfect day for golf and a wonderful course to play. A little pricey at the regular rack rate, but a great value if you can get a reduced rate.
