Let me start by saying that I thoroughly enjoyed my round at Carlton Oaks Country Club. I played with my father and two sons aged 5 and 7. My father-in-law wanted to come but not golf, and they were very accomodating in letting him ride along in his own cart for a nominal fee. You can tell that Carlton Oaks was at one time a phenomenal course. Great layout, lots of water, a tough track. I would compare Carlton Oaks to the Cougar at the bar, past her prime, but worth taking for a ride. Sure she has some baggage but you can see the former glory and it is well worth the price to give it a whirl. If you don't hit them straight bring some balls because there is lots of water and the thick O.B. is not far off the fairways. All that to say, check out Santee Lakes Campground right across the street if you're so inclined, we were staying there and we stay there a decent amount. All that to say I'll be back to Carlton Oaks again.
