Played Mountain Meadows on 7/25. The course is a great late afternoon fast and relaxed round. It has some challenging holes and some easier holes. The tee boxes were ok with some bare spots on half the tees. The fairways were OK, a little on the thin side. Sand traps looked fluffy but were very compact and hard to hit out of. The rough was crab grassy and grabbed your club head. The greens didn't hold one shot, were hard, and lightning fast. Fun course but you can play better for about ten more bucks.

Greens were horrible! Had at least 6 putts "jump" right or left because of the bumpiness or un-repaired ball marks. Haven't fully recovered from last aeration. Rough was thick!!! Felt like I was warmi... Continue »

Greens were horrible! Had at least 6 putts "jump" right or left because of the bumpiness or un-repaired ball marks. Haven't fully recovered from last aeration. Rough was thick!!! Felt like I was warming up for the US Open!! Had trouble finding balls when in the rough. Starter was somewhat of a "Debbie Downer"! Didn't feel welcomed at all!

Played Sunday morning 8:30 am and the course was running on time. Starter was a real nice guy and sent us right out to the first tee. Some of the tee markers were put in weird spots and a few were not level. Fairways were lush and very green with little divot damage. Rough was up and thick, in order to find a ball in the rough you had to be right on top of it. Traps were in good shape with nice base of sand. Greens were lush and running at a good speed for a municipal course. Very little divot damage and greens holding shots.
Course has some character to it and you need some local knowledge to score. Not a lot of people out on course when we teed off but when we made the turn the first tee was very crowded.

Hosted a tournament on 2/24. I was expecting gusting winds, but got real lucky. Mild wind on a day when it was blowing 20+ mph in other parts of LA and OC. Customer service was good. The gentlemen working at the golf shop was working hard to get people in and out in a timely fashion. And he was doing that with a bad ankle on crutches! That itself is great work ethic. It was a busy morning at the course and the range balls ran out a couple times, but they worked to get people balls.

Course was in OK condition. Fairway was a little thin on many parts of the course. Tee boxes were the same, which shows this course gets a lot of traffic. Rough was about 2-3 inches and was lush for the most part. Greens were a little bumpy, but rolled at medium fast speed. Sand was in good condition. The course is interesting. It is target golf and knowing the course is key. I took the tips for this course and helped me. I would play a few holes differently and use my length to the advantage.

Would like to come back and get revenge on this course. Hope the condition improves to make it more enjoying.

Played 2/23. Pretty typical muni course. Tee boxes were OK, some were heavily damaged. Fairways were decent with a small amount of dirt and bald spots. Greens were bad. They looked decent, but the roll was VERY bumpy. Wind picked up in late morning, but it wasn't too bad.

This course has a LOT of sloping fairways, be mindful of that and plan your drives properly. Often times, the middle of the fairway won't be the right spot to aim. Overall, the course proved challenging and interesting. However, the condition of the greens was pretty bad.

Tee'd off around 7AM this morning as a twosome. POP was right at 4 hours with a couple 4-some in front of us. Overall the course was in decent shape. A couple of the tee boxes were being top dressed, the fairways were in decent shape. The rough was long in places and short in others. The greens were fairly bumpy but pretty quick. For $39 riding it met expectations.

Played 11/14/12 tee time 822a, out at 835a, finished at about 125p. I was really surprised that the greens were playing fast & even more surprised that they were rolling great! Played this course several times before and they ran slow. Maybe later on in the day there's more bump to them but I'd like to tip my hat off to the head greenskeeper. Tee boxes level for the most part, some not so level. Rough not penalizing at all, sand nice around the green but dirt in the fairway bunkers. POP was alright for the most part. All in all it was a great day, I just can't get over how good the greens were! I hope they keep them up - get out & play here sooner than later.

First and foremost...don't ever play here on the weekends. We played yesterday in a team play event,but had to follow a large tournament. Our tee time was 8:24 but didn't start until 9:10 and finished at 3:10. Six grueling hours in 100 degree weather without one marshal on the course to keep the pace going. Our 10:00 tee time didn't start until 11:25...inexcusable. Obviously the G.M. doesn't care about the quality of the golfers experience, only just packing as many sardines into the can as he can. And on a Sunday, just one poor guy in the pro shop checking everyone in...long line. Now to the course...decent conditions for the boxes and greens. The fairways were over saturated with water making muddy areas in the middle of fairways. The bunkers were just plain mud...every one wetter than the fairways. I love the layout of this course, but won't be back again on a weekend.

The guys in the pro shop ar great. The marshals are also awesome- nice folks. The head greenskeeper, Mark, is something of a refined Carl Spackler- he's a great guy with a tremendous golf background, really knows his stuff, and has the place in great playing shape. Pace of play is also very good, but you'll occasionally, like all courses get behind a slow moving older group. Back 9 is a blast- very challenging and varying. Oh- great breakfast burritos! Only nit pick I could think of is that it seems some people playing the course may be kings and queens, as it appears they expect their royal court (or someone who actually cares) to repair their ball marks on the green. Oh, and watch out for the LA county fair freak that shows up on the back chipping green early mornings when the fair is going on- he likes hitting balls off railings and hitting shots from the chipping area into the 18th fairway.
