Played this course for free from golfnow. Not worth the posted greens fees. Tee boxes were lush and level. The fairway has a few bare spots, but are very narrow and long which makes for a long day if you are not driving the ball straight. The rough it very thick due to it being bermuda. The greens were very impressive, having rolled very true and very smooth. The sand was a little firm, but there was plenty of sand in them. Felt like it took a long time (went out as a 2some) but only 4 hours. Only gripe would be the greens have so many ball marks on them, partly due to the softness (ball marks are made even on short chips in the morning) and mostly due to people not repairing them. Good place to use a golfnow free round.

They increased the green fees and DECREASED the quality control.. This is not the Brookside we are used to playing. There is nothing prestige about this course anymore...

Slow play is normal but we tolerated for many years in exchange for quality greens and fairways but did they rid of their superintendent or something? For $60, you are getting worse than muni condition. Greens were slow and fairways were dry. I should have stayed home...

Played 5/13/09. First time on this course and I enjoyed it. Greens were medium slow but true, overall condition was better than average for a course which gets so much play. Slow play (4.5 hr) of course, but that seems typical for this area. The many teeboxes make it possible for players of varying skill to enjoy the place - a real plus. Several memorable holes include two-semi-drivable par 4s and one VERY long one - this in spite of how very flat the layout is. The par 3s aren't of great interest. Easy to walk. Well worth the short drive from LA

Played #1 for first time since the fall and had a great time. The course was in pretty good condition and I expect should be at its peak condition soon with the mens club tourney coming soon. Surprised at how few people were on the course this morning, not that I'm complaining. My threesome finished in about 3 and half hrs. We played from the blues but this course is plenty long/tough enough if you aren't bombing your drives. Easy to walk too. Overall our group had a good time and plan on playing again next week. Come check it out.

Greens still not fully recovered from aeration. Very bumpy and still has alittle sand on them. Pace of play today was great for a Saturday afternoon. Saw the cart girl 2-3 times. Great day overall

Played Sunday April 5, 2009. I USED to enjoy this course and have played it several times over the past few years. I am sorry to say that I was extremely disappointed with the value, pace and the conditions of the course yesterday. While the layout is long and provides some challenge from that aspect - alone that mere quality is not redeeming enough to merit my return to this overpriced course - ever. They have raised their rates to $75 w/cart on WE. Highway robbery. Fairways were very dry, greens (aerated 3+weeks ago) still very bumpy and sandy, several areas under repair and worst of all - pace was painfully slooooow - 5:45 hours (3:20h on fron nine!). How they charge that amount and people still pay $75 is unexplainable. For the a superlative golf experience under $75 go play Rustic Canyon or even one of the LA City Muni's - for $30 less and get same pace of play, conditions and layout. If you want to sit around for hours waiting and watch clowns slowly roll by infront of you in Pasadena go to the Rose Parade instead and save your money.

Played 3/12. 11:00 tee time. We went off as a twosome (there were very few players out there-no doubt due to the aeration of the greens). American Golf was running a $25 dollar internet special, so the price was right. Apart from the greens, the course was in fine shape. We got around in about 3.5 hours. Of the two Brookside courses, this one is by far my favorite. It's long, so be prepared for plenty of 3-Wood or 3-4-5 iron play.

Played #1 on 3/8/2009. It's too bad they are aerating the greens soon because they were terrific this morning. Fast and smooth. The whole course was in good condition. When Brookside plays like it did today, it is well worth the $40 to walk for Pasadena residents. Only problem (as usual) is that it is very busy. I showed up at 6:30 and was the first single on the wait list but didn't get out until 8:10. But I can't blame people for showing up to play on a nice day like today.
