Played Sat 10/14 twilight 2:00pm. As always, course was crowded and pace was slow. We couldn't finish the round. However, the whole course is improving very nicely. Greens are healing nicely from the aeration. Fairways are OK. Tee box areas still need some improvements. It was good to see that they are working on the course such as fixing up the bathrooms. Weather was great! Wish we could have finish the round...

Played on 10/09/06, and greens had just been aerated. Course is in fair condition, with generally a low mosture level in soil throughout. Good lies in fairways. Some areas of overwatering and underwatering were present. Don't hit it too far left/long of the 150 marker on 10th hole or you will not hold the very dry/hard ground on fairway. Greens looked good, and the aprons and approaches looked excellent. There is some small improvement project near 9th tee (fountain?) and near one of the tees on the back nine. A nice layout.

You simply can't beat Knollwood for the price. It's my home course being 5 minutes or less from my house, but I play alot of courses in the area that charge 2, 3 and 4 times the money, and Knollwood still holds up. Deceptively challenging layout. Its short but squirly. Lots of elevated greens that won't hold short chips at all, but hit a full wedge or better and you'll often find the the ball plugged on the green. Not alot of sand in play, but the greens are often fairly steep and tricky, stay below the hole. The course is in great condition, especially for late summer. The tee boxes can be a little uneven, and the rough a little spotty, but the fairways and greens can't be beat for this price. There is only one dogleg right, and all the other bends are to the left, so a draw off the tee here plays well all day. The only complaint is that play here can be very slow, especially on weekends, and they do allow fivesomes. Overall a great little mountain style course with lots of trees and hills, but few hazards.

Played on Labor Day. Fairways and greens are good. Greens look slow but actually pretty fast. Overall condition of the course is good - rate 6.0 One thing great about the golf course is that they are renovating the restrooms. They should also provide cart girls. Weather was very hot, but there was no cart girl on this golf course...

First time I have been to this course and was very pleased. The course has a great layout with a lot of character. Course was in great shape for the most part. Greens were outstanding. However, some tee boxes had severe divot damage and were very thin. Also, don't expect them to run ontime. Everyone I talked to says they are never ontime, and I witnessed it for myself. We were scheduled to tee off at 6:30am. Didn't end up teeing off until 7. Although, all in all, a great day and definetly worth the $21 green fee.

Fairways are great but the rough was "Rough" Need some creative thinking and humbleness to get out from the rough. Made the round more interesting. Greens are slow due to aeration but still playable. Overall the course is in good shape except their bathrooms. Still dirty and stinky. Wish they could clean up a bit.
