Played this AM in 3 H. Fairways are getting better (IMO) but they look like they need a lot more water (there appeared to be lot of watering overnight?). But they do provide "decent" lies and plenty of roll. Tee boxes are all fine. Bunkers (in 1) are playable. Rough was about 1/4 inch and sticky. Greens are all in good shape. Customer service excellent at ALL levels.

Played today in 3 H. I am very disappointed in the fairways? They have not "popped" back into shape, since recent aeration. And many (especially # 5) are browned out and have dirt patches? You can find some pretty bad lies. Greens were in good shape. Tee boxes as well. Traps were all playable. Customer service excellent at all levels.

No issues with sand traps. All tee boxes were playable. No rough to speak off (just stay out of the water). Customer service excellent at all levels (thx to Steve/Manny).

Played today in POP 3 H. Not a whole lot to report, from what Weber has stated, as well as from my last review. But we did notice today, that there seems to be a fair amount of inconsistent green speeds? This did not bother us, the last time we played? And we found a couple of fairways today, that could use some TLC (dry areas on several which cause bad lies). Customer service excellent at all levels.

Was actually on my way to Los Amigos, but last minute decided to try Rio Hondo. Good decision as I was able to get right out and able to get around in about 3 1/2 hours. Agree with prior review by 24hour, course, while not perfect is in decent shape and the greens have recovered from the punching. Fairways still brown in spots but good coverage. Only in one bunker and it was just fine.

Staff was great, very accommodating. Always enjoy this course. If I can get past the first 5 holes without losing too many strokes, I find the remainder of the course fairly easy to score. The only holes which scares me is # 14. Lots of potential for a big number there

Played a twilight round today and POP was 2.5 H. Played 13 holes in 1.5 (cart) and last 5 in 1 hour due to traffic. Found the tee boxes to be fine. Fairways, though not totally green (kikuyu) were very acceptable, playable and provided great roll. No rough to really deal with. Bunkers were all very good/playable. Greens were clean, chipped/putted well and had decent speed to them. Customer service excellent at all levels.

Out early this morning in a nice leisurely POP of 2.5 H. Greens are still recovering from aeration of one week ago. While the greens were cut this morning, there is still a lot of sand left and it makes all putts slow. They were also punching the tee boxes this morning, starting from the back. So we got through the front but back was an issue. Bunkers were all fine (I know because I visited a few). Fairways where being cut in front of us and they are in good condition and provided good lies and roll, all round. Very little rough (if any) to deal with. Customer service excellent at all levels.

Recent reviews are accurate and I verified aeration will start on Monday. Late morning $39 walking round with some Buds at Hondo Friday, 20 min.delayed start due to fog (comped range balls by cool starter dude). Slow play, 5 hr PoP but no biggie, we were not in a hurry to go anywhere. I will add that it's a good thing to punch these uber firm greens as predicting roll out on chips/pitches and approach shot was difficult ... so many well struck balls going off the back of the green with very shallow ball marks if you know what I mean. [Shame cuz I was on my game today but couldn't get the up & downs I usually count on to go low] I was in a couple GS bunkers which were a bit unkempt and thin, but playable. Course looks great and Bermuda fairways make for some thin lies ... okay by me. Super service from starter to server in the restaurant afterward. I'll be back for sure, just give it a couple weeks for the greens to mend. Recommended.

2:45 tee time today at Rio Hondo - $32 to ride is a steal. Fairways are getting into better shape since the last time I played here, but it's still not as lush as some other courses I've recently played after the rains. That's not to say it's in bad shape at all, just that you can and will find some thin lies amongst the good ones. Rough is just not that rough. You'll find a mixed bag.

The greens however are pretty phenomenal - maybe the best they've ever been and private club quality right now. Super fast, very tough to stop a ball on quickly, running very true and very tricky due to the speed. My buddy from CO Golf Club could not stop raving about the greens. They're good as can be.

Tee boxes and bunkers are okay. Definitely some TLC needed on a few of the tee boxes and some quite hard to put the tee into. Bunkers played well with varying depths of sand, but all playable. POP was a little slow on the front nine, but picked up on the back as the sun started going down. Were the last ones off as we putted out on 18 in near dark.

But overall a really good showing right now from Rio Hondo and it's worth your dollar.
