I played this course on Nov 11. I thought for the price this course was going tobe nice. The fairways were in very bad condition. The tee boxes were a joke. The greens were in bad condition also. Greens I have played on that have been punched were in better shape. I will never play here again. I play 2 to 3 times a week.

I have been playing a lot of golf here lately and I have really enjoyed being around the course. It looks like they overseeded tees and around the greens because these areas are greener and more lush than i have seen them in awhile. I really like stopping in to the snack shop at the turn because they seem to have something new and interesting to eat at the turn every day like bratwurst, carnitas burritos, or trip tip sandwiches. I don't know why people call the course expensive, i play for $35-$45 dollars almost every time because I book my times online. For this area, that's a great price for what you get.

I grew up around this course, and over time, this course still sucks. The fees are too high for the poorness of the course conditions. I just played here a month ago, and understandably, it's already playing in winter conditions. Even when conditions are better, the rough is still thin in many areas, and the greens are often bare in several places. People don't repair ball marks. I get more value playing other municipal courses in Orange County, like Mile Square or Costa Mesa.

Played Wed Oct 29th at noon. Got off a few minutes early. Played in 4:45. Waited a little but it wasn't bad. Course is improving from overseeding. Pin placements were absolutely ridiculous. I don't know who peed in the guys cereal that morning but most of the pins were on the side of hills. I had a 3 foot putt that missed on the low side and rolled 20 feet away. Hit the next putt hard up the hill. Hit the lip spun to the front of the hole and rolled all the way to where it started 20 feet away. Putted again passed the hole and it spun back lke a wedge into the cup from 3 feet above the hole. Amazing.

Course otherwise was in good shape.

Got a good deal on golfnow for $35.

They were all pretty slow and bumpy. Fairways were ok. They had been punched too. I had some thin lies but I played really well so no complaints here. $35 when I used an email coupon.

Started off as twosome, then single joined us on the back. Fairways were a little wet and rough was mushy in spots. Traps were watered and a bit hard. For discounted price on GolfNow.com, good value.

A number of traps were wet and the fairways had quite a few spots scattered throughout the course that are soggy. The greens are in decent shape for the most part. I won't go back for a few weeks until they're done punching .

I've played over 200 rounds on this course over the past 5 years. I will say that the course is much improved over that time with more improvements to come. My only complaint about this course is the current condition of the greens but I have heard they hired a new superintendent to take care of that.

Greens have to be kept at a slow to moderate speed here, otherwise, there are some holes, such as the par 3 8th and 15th would be impossible.

For the money, Rancho is a much better deal than other courses in the area, such as Tustin Ranch, Strawberry (the most over-rated course) and Oak Creek. Plus they have a great deal on Saturdays, $100 for a round with a box of Titleist Pro V1's.

Also, they have great pricing on the golf merchandise in the store, the few clubs they do have, as well as balls, are priced lower than at Roger Dunn or Golf Smith. They are also able to order anything you might need.
