Overall course is in fair to good shape. Greens were lightning quick once the sun came out and are almost completely back from aeration. Just the merest trace of the aeration holes is still visible and there are still some bobbles. Would look for them to be stellar in a week or two 9/10.

Every hole has 2 sets of tee boxes that are being over-seeded, so they have combined some tee markers. Most of the re-seeded ones look to be coming in nicely and they should be using them again in a few weeks I would reckon. 8/10 for now (and I think they will then be doing the remainder of them later this fall)

Fairways are turning dormant, are on the thinner side and are fairly hard throughout. Ball runs out a lot but they are less than stellar 6.5/10. Rough is still pretty much non-existent but a bit juicier around a few of the greens. About 6 or 7 fringes were being extensively re-sodded and are marked GUR. 7/10.

Didn't visit sand but they all looked good and fluffy. Just the usual issues with patrons not raking/not fixing ball marks. POP around 5 hours prime time Sunday which is about typical.

Overall I would give it about 7.5

this course is always in good conditions. however, can't about pace of play tho. it took us 5 hours on a relatively slow day on Labor Day weekend for twosomes but still enjoyed a last minute round

the tee boxes were level and lush. fairways were lush and some dried spots marked with white chalk. i guess the southern california heat has a lot to do with it. bunkers, however, were a bit inconsistent. some were soft and some were a bit packed and dried. greens were medium to fast and rolled true

we just didn't like the cart safety feature that was installed on them. going downhill, the cart reset itself to 7mph and flat surface was 11mph. i know no one likes to get hurt but it was slow going downhill. other than that, we will definitely return

Good day to all the golfers who use Greenskeeper to review our course here at Eagle Glen. My name is Steve and I am the General Manager here at Eagle Glen. I wanted to thank each of you personally for playing our course and choosing to play here when you have an opportunity play. We appreciate your business and do not take it lightly. We also review our available Tee Time slots multiple times a day to offer you the best possible pricing at our facility. We also read every posting each of you submit. None of the issues go unnoticed. While we cannot accommodate everyone's issues, I do want to clarify and comment on the GPS changes to our carts. There is a bit of rumbling on this. First, the carts are the same and only the GPS has changed. It is the same company, just the newest version. It is still being developed and we are one of the first courses with it. So yes, there are bugs and the company is working on them. Speed though, is not one of these. The old system allowed our carts to travel at 9 mph only. Additionally we had numerous speed bumps throughout the course to further slow you down and aid in the enforcement of safety issues. This did not prevent some guests from acting poorly, driving beyond the safety areas, and doing damage to the carts and injury to themselves. It was also a very bumpy ride that promoted spilled drinks, lost personal articles, and massive time delays. The new system has allowed us to speed up the carts to 11 mph. We are also able to remove the speed bumps as we can control the downhill areas. In these five areas on the course, the speed does drop to 7 mph. This is a fixed speed by the company. So I understand why you think it may be slower, but the fact is that the carts actually are going faster than ever. Plus you get a smoother ride and we were also able to remove all the ropes off the course and clean it up. These changes have resulted in an early average of Pace of Play improvement by 19 minutes. We will still retain our have No Cart areas for your safety and the protection of the golf course. I think if you look at the entire package of what has been provided to improve your experience here at Eagle Glen you will agree that it is continually getting better and better. Played Eagle Glen today. I have heard that they are dumping a good supply of money into the course and the rumors are true. The course is really come around with the new Super. Fairways are in great shape. Just the right amount of roll to keep you honest. Several areas are painted GUR but that to me is a good thing because they are getting ride of thin or dead areas. The new cut and rough line are outstanding, really gives a clear view of where the lines are. Sand traps have improved to very near outstanding,plenty of sand and accesss to several different methods for escape. Greens are smooth and med to fast with little to no ball mark damage.
Several holes have been rest to the orignal design to improve sight lines. My only complaint would be with the new auto regulator golf carts. They slow and speed up with out warning and make it nearly impossible to stay on pace with the group in front of you. I can under stand way with the accidents they have had with careless drivers, but speeds do need to improve. Hole sixteen is still a beast and very difficult to find the fairway with a 200 yard carry from the back tees its always interesting with the wind in your face.

Played on Friday, Aug. 9th. Had a mid-morning tee time, and teed off right on time, so that was good.......and we finished in 4 hours 45 minutes, and THAT was good. And that's about ALL that was good. Here are the negatives (in my opinion):
1. $40 includes Hot Dog and Soda, HOWEVER, they failed to tell us there's no "turn" to get a snack/beer/dog, etc. You go right from Hole 9 to10 and finish 18 before you can get your free meal. Lame.
2. Nazi Carts. Designed to stay off fairways with an annoying beep if you take your cart where you're not allowed. 90% of the areas were bogus, and should've been accessible.
3. Course was in decent shape, but a lot of nasty areas. (Hint to grounds crew: If you're going to lay new sod, it needs a lot of water....you can't let it lay there and dry up). Apparently, they have a rule here: DON'T repair your divot marks on the green. Horrible.
4. Hole number 2 is a pathetic joke. Even the 8 handicapper I was playing with warned me ahead of time "This next hole sucks" and he was right. IF you decide to waste your $$ here, you'll see what I mean.
5. The Drunken two-some who ended up in front of us....somehow. On 16/17/18, we got the pleasure of dealing with two punk-ass drunks (complete with tight, Ed Hardy golf shirts and white shorts) who looked like they'd never played. Never. The Marshalls HAD to see these idiots, especially when one fell down in the fairway!!
To sum it up; This place sucked. Will NOT be back

Course is nice and green considering the time of year and has been greening up progressively throughout the summer. They've been working a lot on cosmetic issues (GUR and native areas being cleared out) and so the course is looking good! Also, the new outlines for the rough are starting to grow in so the fairways are better defined and a tad more penal if you miss them.
Sure, the new carts drive like a prototype google car by controlling speed in places but if that's what your worried about then you've obviously got too much time on your hands. Let's talk about golfing conditions.

Specifics: Tee boxes all good and level and the ones they were working on are all re-opened except for one forward tee on 5. 9/10. The fairways are pretty lush for the time of year and give generally favorable lies with the occasional dry spot or harder pan here or there 8.5/10. Rough is starting to grow in for the new areas marked for growth throughout. Generally still very playable throughout but juicier in spots around the greens. 8.5/10. Sand is generally very fluffy and the few bunkers on 6 that were being repaired are re-opened. Crusty spots in some bunkers from irrigation but good throughout I felt 9.5/10. Greens are faster than the last few times I played here which is nice but still a few bobbles. Also, #13 showed some evidence of needle punching but no big deal! 8/10.

All in all they have been working hard on conditioning all aspects of the course and it is certainly starting to show! Good work EG!

Love love love this track.....just an awesome piece of property. BUT what the heck with this new GPS system? It's just an absolute joke. It's blathers on with the same messages over and over again...same things and now it controls your speed to a ridiculously slow speeds in the most in opportune times. It's really infuriating. Eagle please show us your lame public service messages ONCE and open up the throttle. Golfers, if this thing annoys you as it does me....complain! The only way it'll change is if the golfers complain. Even if you complain to the carts guys...they admitted it sucked and have been getting complaints from other golfer...it'll get back to mgmt. Otherwise get out there and enjoy what is arguably one of the top 5 golf courses in the IE.
