Goose creek as usual was a great track to play. We tee'd off right on time Fri. march 5th. at 9:05 and the round took 4 hours to complete. The course was lush and the greens were in good shape. There seems to be a lack by some golfers to properly fix their ball marks on the greens thus making some putts stray offline ,otherwise the greens were true . This said, the staff from the starter to the beverage cart person were pleasant and helpful.

Played Friday, 3/5, as a three-some. The Goose is notorious on this site for it's consistency in the conditioning of the course. It is consistently in very nice shape. We went off around 11:20 with an open hole in front of us. By the third hole we had caught up and settled into a slower pace involving some waiting for fairways and greens to clear before continuing play. On the 14th tee box, the marshal came by and explained that the group two ahead of us was having issues, had been warned a couple of times and that an adjustment had been made that should spped things up. It was probably about a 5-hour round and I mention it as a condition of play on the day rather than a complaint. While a little slow, it was generally steady, so it was nothing to upset your rhythm. I'm usually in a hurry to get on a golf course, not off. A pleasant day with no significant breeze until the last couple of holes, almost every facet of the course was in very good shape. The one area I would say was less than stellar is the greens. The speed was good and on the quick side, but they were less than pure holding the lines. I saw a few putts make some uncharacteristic jumps and direction changes that are inconsistent with an ideal putting experience. Not horrible, but a shade below the consistency of the rest of the course. The practice green was sanded, so perhaps the regular greens are due for a little TLC and rolling. These are fine points and nothing that would prevent me from recommending the Goose in a heartbeat.

Played 1/31/10 in the morning and finished in about 4 hours...very quick. Course is in great shape! Club cart was around frequently but not too frequently. Not a single thing wrong with this place.... Continue »

Nice peaceful track and in great condition. From tee to green it is well manicured. Very calm, and a good looking course, except with one tee box you see a bunch of cow butt's behind you. Pace was good, never too much of a wait on any hole. Drove to the clubhouse at 7 as a walk on single and was out in the next group.

Greens fantastic hole course excellent. If not for David leadbeyter giving lesson in fairway would have been awesome. Now I see why the goose is so well regarded.

Played yesterday at 12:08, finished a little before 5:00. Play was slow but steady. I sometimes get selfish thoughts regarding posting great things on a course as this may influence more people to play causing slower play and all the other consequences caused by more golf play on a particular course. I just can't keep the beauty of this course to myself. I know that there are other course with maybe a little more challenge or raw beauty in Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino county but for the money, GOOSE CREEK is the best deal. The diversity of holes keeps you in the game for 18 holes. I would say the 18th hole is one of the best in Southern California. The most amazing is the maintenance year around.

Played Saturday 10/31 - walked on as soon as I arrived - just before twilight rates kocked in. Good pace of play. Usual great playing conditions and the wind was absent.

Played Saturday 10/31 - walked on as soon as I arrived - just before twilight rates kocked in. Good pace of play. Usual great playing conditions and the wind was absent.
Some observations:
- the cows are back - at least some of them. I thought the dairyfarm next door had closed. Hmmm
- big excavation going on in the hazard by holes 11,14 and 18. My playing partners who are regulars said it is drainage improvements to avoid flooding in the rainy season. Looks like they are planning a permanent lake to me.
- Champions Tour qualifying all this week - Nov 1st - 6th. Probably closed to the general public.
That last factoid shows you just how good this facility is.
