You just have to like this course, very tranquil setting, quality from the minute you enter the gates! And for $45 a steal also!! Bring your tee shot as this is one of the most demanding courses I have ever played. Rough is thick and wet, greens are fast and hard, but course is short enough where you can bring it in high. sand traps a little to wet though. Great GPS system which is neccesary to manuever the many blind shots. Course may be a little to tricked out, it's only downside.

Havent been here for awhile,place is still tough,greens are not great to look at,brown ball marks,but smooth and med fast. Greens hold OK. They are keeping the place wet as its been hot, thats also OK,but some traps are mud and some rough is VERY deep. The Calif Tour was in town and pin Placements were difficult. Cross Creek is still a great track, but, maybe SCGA is now a bit better. We will go back. Very quiet,very nice.

I played this course twice in June, and again this week. The course was much less frustratrating now that I've played it a few times, although it's easy to lose lots of balls. The greens were in great shape, and about medium speed. Fairways and rough in excellent condition, too. The weather was perfect and nobody was around. The place grows on you.

1st time playing here. Played 7/29/04. What a nice course. The setting is wonderful out in the middle of nowhere. Just a few ranch homes of in the distance. Course is in great shape fairways lush and green rough is very plush but thick punishing off track shots. The greens are in good shape but had lots of divit scares probably do to the greens not matured yet.
Tee of at 9:45 and finished in under 4 hours. CrossCreek definatley has the whole golf package. For the money its hard to find round.

OK, I waited until I had a decent run at this course before I commented. About ten times of play and I finally par the 10th and 11th holes. This is a course that had all sorts of good intentions when someone thought about it but then the designer laid it out and missed the mark. Granted that there is some great diversity and some nice challenge to the overall experience but blow up most of the back nine holes and start over. By the way, what is with the greens? This place pours on the water and yet the greens are very hard, this is not to say the greens are too fast just toooo hard. The course is located way out, nice and quiet, overall a decent value but again not remarkable in any way. Just one mans opinion.

The front is layup golf and there are some holes you can birdie, but the back is where the trouble lies. Good shots are rewarded but not the bad ones. There are no friendly bounces any where. Beware of the wind, it can plya with your ball. Overall a great course and good conditions.

I played in a tourney here on 6/12. Beautiful day and a very pretty and quiet course. Very difficult as well. Because of my handicap, I was forced to play from the black tees. On certain holes I would have been happy to hit an iron because of the narrow fairways, but was left no choice but to hit driver because the carry was 230yds and up in some cases. As others have said here, it is helpful to play the course once just to know what your in for. I'll be back and play the gold tees next time.

- This course is very different from most courses I've played. The rating from the gold tees is 136, but the length is only 6310. Believe the slope rating and play from the appropriate tees or you will not have a good time. I played with a guy that shot a 48 on the front nine from the blues (5609 yards) and switched to the golds on the back nine. He was miserable. There are some problems with the setup. For example, #5 is a par 5, 398 from the blues, and plays like a par 4. From the golds it's a legit par 5, 484 yards. Holes like that discourage you from playing the blues, which is from where most golfers should play. Most of the par 4's require pinpoint placement to get a good lie with a decent shot at par. Miss that area, even in the fairway, and you're likely to have an uneven lie. You also need to play this course a few times to know how to play it. We played 18 in the morning and had no idea where to hit many tee shots. The afternoon round was a little better. The pro's tips on the GPS are practically worthless--a short sentence, usually describing the shot into the green or something obvious like "hit the fairway." I would not recommend this course to the novice golfer if he/she gets frustrated when they score poorly. It's a nice layout but requires too much thinking for the weekend golfer, but experienced players will enjoy the added challenge. I'll play it again soon, but not before I play a few easier courses that restore my confidence first.
