played here for 1st time 5/20, beautiful course in great shape with no houses but unless you are a low handicap you do not want to play the gold which often required long drives just reach fairways. Very difficult with lots of blind shots, it definitely requires some course knowledge to score well here. My favorite was when starter warned us about looking for balls in brush due to snakes, scorpions, tarantulas and poison oak. Bring extra balls!!

I was able to play the course at half price through my Golfextra membership, so the green fee was absolutely worth it. At the full price of $58.00 the price is okay but not great. You could play the SCGA for $43.00 and the layout and conditioning are every bit as nice if not better. Cross Creek has its setting in the hills north of Temecula that make it a total experience. No home sites nearby, those visible are unbelievable, and the birds and other sights can't be found on other nearby courses. Check out all the red-headed woodpeckers in the trees near the green on 16 and teebox on 17, they make a racket when a new one flies among them, really cool. Play the course and you will want to play it again. One hint to the new player here, beware the false fronts on many greens, and almost all of them run from front to back. Middle of the green on all pin placements will give you best shot at par or better.

Beautiful landscape/scenery...rough was extremely deep and lost balls JUST 3-5 feet off the fairway cut. Lateral hazard beyond the rough on every hole...crucial to keep it in the short stuff. There are some blind landing areas and forced lay-ups (constantly Cross-ing the Creek that winds throughout the course)...but a nice layout. Enjoyable greens, good speed and smooth but not unfair. Staff was very attentive. Good value and great scenery.

Still the best track in the Temecula Valley, SCGA a close second. Everything but the greens were in great shape,greens are still slow due to punching and not too much mowing. The staff is very professional and friendly. If ya pull the cart up to the tees you are using the gps will tell you how far it is ,, better than a marker. this is always on our have to play list. Oh Ya,, the rough is very tall and lush,, hitting the fairway is a good thing. My thought is 20 hdcp and below will LOVE this place, higher will not have too good a time. We will return in a couple of weeks.

Played as a threesome using the golf extra half off at $44.50 each at 12.10pm.
The first thing I noticed while unloading the golf bags is the attire of the staff. The were all wearing old school knickerbockers which was really neat. The green fees at $44.50 is really affordable and worth the 2 h drive from Northridge. However, I would think twice if I paid the full rate. The golf course was in decent shape. Fairways were lush and a little on the long side so golf balls did not have much roll on them. The tee boxes were a little too lush and I had to use a long tee to tee the ball up because a normal sized tee would not hold the ball properly. The rough is very thick. It seemed like this course was set up for a PGA tour event with the thick rough and narrow fairways. The greens were recently aerated and rolled slower then usual. They were not rolling too smoothly. The only complain is that the carts could not enter some areas of the fairway from 150 yards out thus making it difficult to pick a club since the carts have GPS systems. The fairways have markers that measure distances to the center of the green. The tee boxes did not have proper marking except for the par 3s, therefore I did not know if I was teeing off from the proper distance. A tough and challenging golf course which really tests every aspect of your golf game. I recommend this golf course to golfers that have a 10 handicap or under, and if you live 1 hour from the golf course.

This is a very good golf course. It's very beautiful and has meny tight holes. However, the greens are way too hard for the shots that you hit into them. The tees needed cutting and the rough is too severe for the average player. You also need to play it once to know what's happenning on some of the holes. Overall this is one of the best kept secrets in Socal. I urge you to take the drive to Temecula and play it.
