Oak Quarry continues to work on their conditions and it shows! Played this morning with Stickboy (we made contact through Greenskeeper.org ) - we were second-off on the tee at 7:00 A.M. - and we finished in three-hours and forty-five minutes. That's how long it should take to play virtually any course...I'm sorry, but reading about these five-and-six-hour rounds all over So. Cal. just makes me queasy!

No such problem at Oak Quarry. We got right around, never had to wait for the group ahead...and I know the group behind never had to wait on us! The groundskeepers at OQ are working on many bunkers, replacing sand...several fairways are freshly fertilized...and the greens are mowed tight and putt great! Fairly fast, too! Overall...the conditions of the course, for mid-January, are spectacular! Good coverage (thick to lush on the fairways) and very green, considering the time of year.

Given all of the work going on....Oak Quarry will be in awesome shape for the rest of the year and into Spring. Well done! Our cart "ran out of juice" on the 16th hole (second time this has happened in as many rounds!) - - but the fellow we played with who is a member of the OQ club said that they are ordering a new fleet of golf-carts this Spring. Excellent!

Just got done playing Oak Quarry (Wed, 12/26) - had an 8:36 A.M. time...finished in 4.5 hours. Nothing much more to add from the last time I rated O.Q. - still in fine shape..the greens are very good. Evidently the wind really blew on Christmas day and a few trees got knocked down (70 m.p.h. gusts they told us) - but the crack groundskeepers at The Quarry got right on it and the place looked great.

Super staff, fun course. Oak Quarry will always be in my rotation!

Oh....'cause I gotta complain about SOMETHING....12/26 is NOT a holiday...and holiday rates were a little extreme!!

It's also as green and lush as I've ever seen it...and the greens rolled better than I've ever seen them. The staff is great, Hank is the best...and the plan to switch us over to a "shotgun" start was pure genius. I've already booked a time for the 26th. When my busy Christmas season is over...I wanna play Oak Quarry!

this place is worth every penny. customer service was great from the front desk to the cart guy. cannot say enough great things about this place. just be aware that when the winds kick up it gets extremely difficult. greens were great eventhough it had rained. even the maintenance crew were great. they actually stopped mowing and waited for you to hit. a must play

I was really impressed with Oak Quarry, especially compared to Phoenix courses. The one problem I always have about playing in Socal, is the "worth the money" factor. Frankly, I am usually disappointed, because when I spend $50-100 on a round, I would like decent conditions. Quarry definitely was worth the money.

Cons: Windy, but not really a problem with the course, just something to consider when playing.

At times I’ll wonder at the differences in perception. In a small way, rating a golf course fair/good/great/immaculate falls into that category. Oak Quarry is an exception. No question about this one-... Continue »

Often when I play, I end up focusing on the places I’m hitting from- at times making it difficult to really evaluate an entire course. Sure the was some of that going on last Friday- but the consistent quality of QC is obvious.
Visually very challenging [target golf] in a unique setting. Absolutely top notch customer service. Would put it in the ‘must play’ category.

Played on 12/7 with GK group. Greens were nice looking but slow, probably because of the rain. Customer service and course maintanence were both top notch. Several holes are quirky that require experience or local knowledge to play well. The only negative is a punitive local rule that requires the golfer to take a drop with one stroke penalty if he hits into a "native area", which on many holes is barely off the fairway, on both sides of the fairway. Definitely not a course for a spray hitter, accuracy is a must here.

Played the "Rock" for the first time 12-7 in the gk tourney. What an awesome course! The views are spectacular. The customer service was outstanding. I thought the greens were great, fairways were lush,tee boxes top notch. Even the sand would have been pretty good except for all the rain . I should be an expert on their bunkers after Friday's round. I sampled many of them! We had a great time @ the GK event. Can't wait to go back!
