Played on Memorial Day about 7:30 am as a walk on and joined a twosome on the tee. Presidio/Mission. The course is in very good overall condition. There is still a potential for a log jamb at the starters counter in the pro shop, so get there in plenty of time to pay and just chill. Riverwalk is just beginning to mature now. Good quality fairways and rough, good above average greens. Some birdie holes for sure. Like the previous post, the place is beginning to be worth the green fees

Very good conditions from tee to green. And to our surprise, we finished in 3.5 hours on a Saturday afternoon. We will certainly be back.

I PLAYED RIVERWALK SUN 4/2 PRESIDO & MISSION COURSES BOTH WERE IN GREAT SHAPE AND WAS WORTH THE DISCOUNTED GREENS FEE OF $55.00 DOLLARS (GOLFNOW.COM) THE 12TH HOLE IS ONE OF THE BEST HOLES I'VE PLAYED IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA A SHORT PAR 4 WITH WATER ON THE RIGHT AND A TWO TIERED GREEN WITH A WATERFALL DIRECTLY BEHIND THE GREEN.

i normally avoid this course but was pleasently surprised by the conditions. overall solid given the amount of play it gets. pretty easy layout, but the wind makes up for that. still a little overpric... Continue »

Played Friars/Mission- I have said before not my favorite course to play, but overall it is in pretty darned good condition. The track itself is not spectacular and without the good greens, and green complexes it wouldn’t be nearly as pleasant to play. If played in the afternoon and the coastal winds are blowing it can play like a whole different course. Under calm conditions it plays fairly undemanding. It’s the type of course that has a few holes you shouldn’t pound out the driver on. The par 3’s are not cheap. It has a few weak par 4’s, and a couple of reachable par fives. But it has a central urban location. The staff was friendly. The course played just under 4 hours, very nice nowadays. Ball marks, I talked to a staff member who acknowledged the situation and express his regret (for something the course isn’t really at fault for). It wasn’t the end of the world or anything, the greens did putt pretty true, the old marks were mostly smoothed out, the new fresh ones well I guess you just have to fix them in your line (and as many others as you can without holding up play). It’s just sad to see greens that are well maintained left that way at the end of the day. The greens here I have found to be either good or very good, and on a few occasions excellent. Paid about $20 more than I’d like to have paid, but due to the course’s overall good conditions, location (near the coast in the 70’s), pace of play maybe it was almost worth it.
