Played 12-31-05. As usual, crew was friendly and helpful. Course played true, if unforgiving of errant shots. Rough was REALLY rough! Light rain didn't cause any problems and course seemed to drain well. Greens were difficult to read, but rolled true. Booked through golf619.com and got GREAT rate! Overall, this is a wonderful course to play, regardless of skill level. Bring extra balls if you aren't a straight shooter, though!

Once again I followed an outing and sure enough it took 5 hours to play. Will tournaments ever play in a reasonable time frame?? This course is very nice. Putts roll true and the greens are fast. It is too bad they don't hold very well. It was hard to hold short irons even from the fairway. There are 4 short par 3's of which 3 of them require very precise iron shots. Tough pin placements and firm fast greens........not easy... If wind blows forget about it.

They have let the rough grow very long, it's easy to lose a ball just a few feet off the fairway. The weather has not been too warm so far this summer so the course is in excellent shape.

They Aereated the front 9 on Sunday and were working on the back 9 today.
They DID NOT tell us whin we made our starting time on Sunday afternoon, so we were pissed.
They did have a little price break but not much.
So, don't forget to ask whin you make your starting times.

Course layout is fun. Firm fairways make you rethink hitting driver, as the holes often don't play that long, or narrow at the driver distances. If greens were smooth and quick would rate a lot highe... Continue »

Nice outing on Sunday, May 22. Pro shop gave us the city discount even though we're not residents of Escondido or San Diego. Cart attendant/starter was a little surly for our early morning tee time. Decent pace of play. Nice, tight fairways; perfect greens (although a bit firm); awful bunkers (wet sand in most, spun sugar in others - no consistency). OK value for $60 on a Sunday.
